Always seems to happen that someone iconic passes around this time of year. This guy never really courted the limelight but his songs will last a very long time, including of course, Driving Home For Christmas

Bizarrely I'd just been watching his guest appearance on Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing 2020 Christmas Special the day before on i-player. From 37' in, for 4', a nice back story to driving home, and his health issues were mind boggling. That track alone netted him £200-£250k p.a. and £7m cumulatively apparently.

A voice which once heard was never forgotten. RIP Chris

Just watched an BBC breakfast interview with Chris Rea and also read an article about how he wrote songs which was interesting.

My only regret was not seeing him perform. live.....
