| Pies 6 quid? Kinel. Have they gone up? 21:56 - Jan 25 with 3455 views | _Windydale | I must admit the steak pie was quality in the main stand. 6 fikin quid though? Have they gone up? Premier league pies are cheaper. I think 4-50 5 quid is fair. [Post edited 25 Jan 21:56]

Few people moaning in the queue too in front of me, wincing at the pie prices. But the rolls, I imagine, they have a strong mark up as cheap to make.

Rochdale folk would moan if the pies were free and served by Linda Lusardi wearing only an apron!! The profit margin on a pie will be around 0.75-1.25 GBP taking into account cost of ingredients, labor, electricity, transportation etc. doesn’t seem a lot when everything is taken into account.

A pie should never cost £6 regardless of 'margins' its an absolute piss take, theres not a chance they cost £5 to make individually 👍 As a bit of a comparison I recently bought 2 catering sized from from Burnden Pies its been there for decades loads of filling and they cost £25 each and served 12 decent portions 14 at a push [Post edited 31 Jan 21:33]

I guess its a Scratch Catering decision given we outsourced catering a few seasons ago. I seem to recall that the previous supplier was in Milnrow. Don't Morecambe FC make their own. The club chef bakes them on the day before a match day so they can control the quality and optimise for value. If Scratch need a bigger margin they could make them.

Im surprised the minutes from the last CAB meeting have not been posted on the club website, but catering was discussed for next season: Catering. Egg Soldiers is a food & drink consultancy that has been invited in to work with the club with regards the food & drink offering. A number of recommendations have been made and a follow up meeting is to be held on Friday 23 rd January. Discussions have been held with our current catering partner – Scratch Catering – with a view to some form of joint venture going forward. The plans discussed so far will involve significant investment in food & drink outlets and support facilities, as it is recognised that the infrastructure is currently poor, and not just for matchday experience but for revenue generation outside of matchdays. A wider consultation of the fanbase is planned to discuss the food offering, such as a Hero pie in recognition of our history in award winning pies. A significant sum is spent annually in providing food for players, and this supply forms part of this consultancy. - Fans Forum. Thursday 12 th February at the Ratcliffe. 6:30pm for 7:00 start. Doesn't address the current pie pricing, nor was CAB made aware in advance of this change.

Any chance you could give the club a prod to remind them to publish the minutes of the CAB meeting. They are usually an interesting read.

Yes, which is why I didn’t suggest they cost £5 to make. I’m idly curious - do they have a pay a concession to the club to have their products on sale and / or pay for serving staff?

I don't think they would moan if it's a fair price to pay. I'm thinking of those with a budget; buying a coffee and a pie is an expensive treat at Dale. Affordable for one, or for those with a decent wage. Part of the match experience. But make it affordable for families who turn up, especially the new supporters. At the moment its a treat for the affluent. I'd be happy with hollands on match day to bring the price down.

This is it in a nutshell It's always been about getting some warm grub inside on a cold day/evening, without having to take out a bank loan

If there's no more than £1 profit as you suggest on a simple snack we may as well just pack it all in now, the reality is theres far far more profit in it for anyone charging an obscene £6 for a pie. When clubs like United with their overheads are charging like £1.50 less per pie and clearly still making a profit someone somewhere is clearly taking the piss.
| Pies 6 quid? Kinel. Have they gone up? on 18:40 - Feb 3 with 7 views | EllDale | United will be able to probably buy in their pies much cheaper given that they must sell at least ten thousand pies every home game? Much cheaper with discount for bulk buying. | | | |
