Jon Lord was definitely up there with the best of them. I saw Deep Purple live a few times down the years and he was simply brilliant.
When you think of the other keyboard maestri of the day, Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson et. al., we had quality in abundance but Jon Lord certainly had the WOW factor .
