I was using the word "defender" rather saying players of the same team,you know what I mean. When I said forward I meant the player receiving the ball has to receive a pass that goes forward to him,if it goes backwards to him then he can`t be offside. By definition,if the attacking player is level with the second last player of the other team is exactly my point. If they hadn`t changed the offside rule to level with the second last defender (of which they must be if they`re in their own half of the field),this problem would never have eventuated.
