Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Crown Oil Arena for our first EFL home league match! 💙
There have been a fair few changes and improvements around the ground to help make your matchday experience even better.
🍻 The Ratcliffe Bar
The Ratcliffe has had a full renovation, with improvements to the bar, kitchen and toilets. We’ve also got a brand-new three-screen media wall and air conditioning, making it a much nicer space for supporters to enjoy.
🍺 The Dale Bar
The Dale Bar hasn’t had a full renovation, but we’ve had brand-new sets of pumps installed, along with deeper coils in the coolers. Hopefully, that means we’ll be serving some properly ice-cold beers! 🍺
💳 New Till System
We’ve also introduced a brand-new till system across all the bars and kiosks.
It’s a big change, so please bear with the teams while everyone gets used to the new system and finds their way around it.
🍔 Kiosks & Food
Whether you fancy loaded fries, a good old pie or something else, we hope you enjoy the new setup and the wider choice of food available.

Now for the more difficult part.
For those who know me, and for those I may not have met over the years, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my position as Bar Manager.
After around 23/24 years of hard work, both behind the bar and as a supporter, I feel that now is the right time for me to step away from the role.
That doesn’t mean I’m disappearing, though. I’ll still be around because, like everyone else, the Dale is in our blood. 💙
There’ll be a transition period while a new manager takes over, and during that time I’ll make sure all the relevant information from the forum is passed across.
For now, though, the Bar Operations thread will come to an end.
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, as well as all the bar teams and club staff.
Thank you to everyone who has joined in the discussions, given feedback, raised issues and helped shape the bar operation into what it is today.
It’s been a huge part of my life, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Thanks for all your hard work and commitment to listening to supporters. The bars have improved year on year and it’s shown by how busy they are on a match day now.
Over the last couple of seasons there have been some memorable times spent in the Ratcliffe watching the beambacks of away games, you and your team ensured that fans had a chance to experience those moments.
