For what it’s worth York have apparently scored nine stoppage time goals this season to Dale’s one. That’s the highest and lowest in the NL respectively. Not sure what conclusions can be drawn from that. |

He’s gone straight into their team at Gateshead tonight. |

So if the average admission price was £20 there was approximately £30k taken in those away turnstiles last night. Nice boost for Halifax. |

York take all, or most of their chances from the looks of it. Fine margins: not for the first time this season my thought at the break was, “we could have been two or three up at halftime”. If Gordon’s header had gone in, if Mani D or Moss had got on the end of Rodney’s centre etc. Fact is we played lovely football for 30 minutes and then allowed Halifax back into the game by giving them the chance to get in plenty of crosses and by allowing their midfield pairing the freedom of the pitch whilst Gilmour and East retreated to the edge of our box. But there’s still a game in hand…… Can Jim lift them again though? Perhaps this run of fixtures has sapped the energy levels too much? |

I noticed that as soon as Mani put the ball in the net he looked round at the linesman so perhaps he had a feeling that it was debatable. Jaskalainen was complaining at length as well that he had been impeded (by Gilmour?) as the corner came across from which Gordon scored. The keeper wasn’t happy at all. Seem to remember Gilmour being similarly involved when Gordon scored at Forest Green. |

How many yellows is Gordon on now please TVOS? I understand 37 matches is the cutoff point? |

Going off how they have setup in the warmup Woking are playing a defensive back five! At best three at the back and two deep wingbacks. |

“Sports Report” used to be a joy at 5.00pm on Saturday back in the day. It was the only source of information regarding final scores though: now there are so many ways of accessing information. |

Admittedly they’ve a healthy lead at the top of League One but the Football Gods may find it presumptuous to already describe Cardiff as a Championship club for next season! |

Strange given that he lives in Royton, his brother played for Oldham and his late wife used to work at Spotland. |

Let’s be positive. We’re clear at the top of the league and, looking at the next month’s fixtures up to the Southend game, there’s no why reason why, provided that people put their shooting boots on, that we can’t go on another run. I can see the Halifax game away game being a potential banana skin but how did they contrive to lose to Gateshead last night? Sorry if I’ve tempted the FGs there. The only issue for BJ this morning may be reassessing his team for Saturday. Did he anticipate the likes of Mani D and Rodney playing 90 minutes last night? Could well be a chance for Allarakhia and Hendo on Saturday. |

Could be quite a clash of styles when Forest Green entertain Carlisle on Saturday. FGR certainly looked mobile and skilful last night and there was a spell, immediately after their equaliser, when they had us on the rack. There was a lot a stoppage time due to running repairs to the linesman and perhaps Dale were glad to hear the halftime whistle. I noticed a slight change in emphasis after the restart; their number six had been controlling things from the back and it was noticeable that in the second half that East was harassing and harrying him every time he got the ball in his own half which interrupted their flow. All credit to BJ for that. Incidentally did anyone else think that the ball had gone out of play immediately before their goal? It was nice to see Dale ripping into them from the first minute and there could have been a couple of other goals as well. Moss has been a revelation recently. I initially had him down as an outright defender plugging a gap on the left but he’s definitely grown into that wingback role. I bet there will be a few sore bodies this morning and it’s a short turnaround before the long trip to Somerset tomorrow. I wonder if one or two may be rested eg Rodney with Tuesday’s match in mind? |
