The fact that no one has managed it for so long tells its own story.
The likes of Stockport and Wrexham couldn’t manage the feat in more recent times either.
Personally I’d be quite happy to forego a day out at Wembley in favour of going up as champions.

New Loan Signing..
at 21:04 28 Nov 2025

Halifax Town have had a recent history of losing senior players after reaching the playoffs.
This time round it was the likes of Adam Senior and Jack Evans who left along with Ryan Galvin so it is perhaps an exaggeration to say that it was the latter’s departure which was the final straw for manager Chris Millington.
There were a lot of other issues involved.

Would make sense as it’s an evening kickoff.

CAB minutes 17/11/25
at 12:43 27 Nov 2025

One a Saturday and the other a midweek game. When the attendance is announced at the end of every game I’ve automatically presumed that the vast majority of season ticket holders (approximately 2000?) have been present and that the difference is accounted for by away spectators and casual supporters but obviously not the case.

The full return of Tutonda was a bonus as was a cameo appearance by Hosannah who is literally like a new signing if he stays fit.

Any news on the state of the pitch before tonight’s game?
I see that a heavy frost is forecast for later.

Still have to play it though at some stage.
Unless we play Everton at Finch Farm?
Or Goodison, still used by Everton women?

Bearing in mind a decision may have to be made on Friday afternoon if Eastleigh are travelling up on the day before the game.

Did a solid enough job in the absence of Pritchard and Tutonda but they’re now fit.

Funny how the Aldershot players didn’t protest too much.
And I haven’t seen anywhere that Coleman has alluded to the matter.
Which is surprising unless he really has mellowed!

As I understand it was pretty much the same scenario at the Shay as we have at Spotland.
Drains had to be replaced and the whole pitch infrastructure renewed.

For comparative purposes the new pitch at the Shay was laid and ready for use in eight weeks over the summer. Work started in the first week in July and it was ready for use by the first week in September.
It was during a decent spell of weather though if that’s a factor.
It cost 800k and half of that was a grant from some fund or other. Perhaps such funding could be available for Spotland?

Scruffy game but a win nevertheless.
You can’t expect the same freeflowing, expansive football in November that we enjoyed at the end of the last league season and the start of this one. The weather and the pitch prevent that to a degree.
There were chances to score in the first half when there were several goalmouth scrambles whilst Rodney and Berkow managed to get themselves in a tangle with a sight of goal on another occasion.
Mani D and Rodney also contrived to squander gilt edged opportunities after the break.
I’m a big fan of East but the introduction of Pettit gave more physicality. Pettit is much more suited to muck and nettles football.
Although he didn’t get on the pitch it was nice to see Pritchard back on the team sheet.
