What the hell was that 1st half - they looked like they couldn’t be ar**d.
Note to Tonda: stop playing Dobbin as a centre forward when Larin is out - it should be Mubama or AN other….

With no Larin and Dobbin liken to play off a front man, why could we not play 442. Take your pick with the 4 at the back. 4 across the middle.. Scienza and Masuki wide with JWP holding, Azaz playing in front. Dobbin then plays off the shoulder of Mubama. Today, we had Dobbin playing as a 9. It doesn’t work. We tried it with Adam Armstrong and with Archer, it doesn’t work. All to small and weak. Yet we keep doing it.

Strange game. Tactics clearly weren't working—but they're only ever as good as the back line can defend, and once Schlotterbeck put 110% into injuring himself we became a Jack-Stephens-led defense, which tends not to work out so well. This time a second-half push wasn't enough to save us. We have to get out of the starting blocks much more quickly.
