So many happy memories of being a teenager and growing up with the best music ever. Punk came along in the mid-70's and then the New Romantic scene (of which I loved and spent a small fortune on clothing, immaculate haircuts, eyeliner etc each payday haha).
So many records to choose from - but one that I still play often today is Marquee Moon by Television (1977) and that fabulous guitar solo midway through. Any excuse for Friday choons...
There may well be some truth in this central defender story. THB is being strongly linked to a move to West Ham or Everton this window and we know desperate PL clubs will pay over the odds in order to save being relegated. This would also fit the Sport Republic model of selling big and buying low for some kid who 'may' make Solak a huge profit in a year or two - which is the aim isn't it? I mean - fu(k the actual football itself, right?
We should be begging Leeds to take Joel Piroe on loan for the rest of the season. Looks like he might be going to Rangers instead - providing Leeds get another striker in before the deadline. Piroe is superb at this level and his stats speak for themselves.
Leo's injury isn't too bad apparently and he's looking good for Stoke away. Personally, can't see him playing the full 90 minutes (obviously) but good news that he's okay. We're so much better when he plays.
With the transfer deadline fast approaching, any word on a new striker yet?
AA just isn't up to it lately (he's so out of form it's untrue) and with Cam Archer being guff, it leaves Ross Stewart as our only real threat... and who knows how long he can remain fit.
Surely some of the Premier League clubs have a young but capable striker on their books that they'd like to see being given playing time? We must have contacts at said clubs, surely?
We can plough on through the rest of the season with other positions for now - but if we don't improve our options up front, we are going nowhere this season.
Good read that article. Leo is fast becoming a much-loved and admired footballer here at Southampton. Just his wonderful goal celebration yesterday in front of the pikeys elevated his status in my eyes! Anyone see the little dance jig he did too in front of the away fans after scoring yesterday?
Indeed. Surely every striker dreams of being one-on-one with a keeper? And I know they're not going to score 100% of the time - but in AA's case - just 25% of the time would do!
Well if any of the struggling Premier League clubs who were mooted to be looking at him watched yesterday's derby game, they'll be turning their attentions away from Adam Armstrong after his poor finishing in front of goal. If he can't do it at this level - heaven help him at a level higher. The second attempt was a snap-shot which the keeper stopped via a good reaction save. But the first attempt when one-on-one with their keeper - that was a very poor effort.
Indeed. Making substitutions for substitutions sake - which is what Eckert did bar Leo's injury - knocked all the stuffing out of us. We were sh1te from then on. Stewart, Charles, Robinson and a player I like a lot, Fellows, offered bugger all. Eckert is, and always has been, clueless on when & why to make subs.
And it's laughable even imagining this squad in the Premier League. We'd be worse than we were last season.
Eckert should show the team a replay of tonight's Fenerbahçe v Aston Villa game in Turkey that I'm currently watching. We'll get a similar welcoming & atmosphere on Sunday!
