Next seasons kits?
at 16:38 24 Apr 2025

I talked with some fans about this a few weeks ago and we thought a tribute to the 75/76 team a modern take on both strips would be good.

And I agree, no gambling site as a sponsor. Football should rid itself of gambling sites money.

The Madsen rehabilitation thread
at 11:15 19 Apr 2025

That's not a bad comparison of the two players.

I hated Fillery at first, but he was later on one of my favourites in the team.

Madsen has had 3 very good games now and looks like he has found a role in the team. Hopefully he will maintain this form, because he does have a very good eye for a pass. If Yang had scored the game might have been a far easier watch.

Ronnie Edwards - praise to the club when it’s due
at 10:58 19 Apr 2025

I agree with you and also the original post.

Edwards had been outstanding and if I was a manager of a Premiership (or even Premiership bound like Leeds or Burnley I would be trying to buy him because he is way too good for the Championship.

i am just envious that QPR didn't spot his talent before Peterborough or Southampton, especially as it was only a few seasons ago that we signed Dickie from the lower leagues.

Players that left the club and it hurt as a fan

Absolutely gutted when Venables left. I saw an interview a few years ago when he said that he had asked Jim Gregory for a pay rise to reflect his achievements and told him that Barcelona were interested in him, but the Chairman thought he was bluffing.

Venables said he reluctantly left because Gregory was too tight to give him a reasonable pay rise.

I also often think what might have been if he had stayed and what trophies QPR could have won. He was our Brian Clough.

I think selling Peacock led to a sit in protest on the pitch against Leeds Utd (we lost 0-4 iirc).

Plenty of players and managers to single out just one, but I was on my way to renew my season ticket when I read in the Evening standard that Sinton was being sold. I got off the train at the next stop and got a train back home.

The sale of Ferdinand was a huge blow but the money the club got should have been used to strengthen the squad but it was squandered on useless players like Hateley, Zelic and Somner. It lead to relegation and the club has never really recovered as we were an established top half team in the early days of the Premier League.

The Sinclair sale was daylight robbery.

Selling Parkes left us with Derek Richardson in goal and we almost got relegated that season (went down the following season instead).

I was also bitterly disappointed when Wegerle was sold to pay for the 'San Siro' staircases.

Sheffield utd v Cov

Spot on, but they also have strikers who can regularly score at this level.

Evening we stay up this season I doubt we will have 3 strikers who can score goals next season and we will be as mediocre as usual.

That one is on Marti
at 17:20 29 Mar 2025

Agreed.

Smyth or Dembele as a striker in Frey's absence is a terrible decision and we all can see that Andersen looks shot and cannot play out wide and be expected to provide cover and assistance to the full backs.

He should be able to change his formation to one that suits the players at his disposal. In this case play a 3-5-2 and start with Lloyd and either Smyth or Dembele alongside him.

Morrison is fit and should also have started .

We are dropping nearer and nearer to the drop zone with each passing game just as we did when Ainsworth started.

Marti Cifuentes needs to address this slump ASAP. March is done and dusted now with 1 draw and 5 losses from 6 fixtures. Let's all hope April brings us those 2 elusive wins.

Stoke City v Queens Park Rangers- match thread hi
at 16:02 29 Mar 2025

Absolutely dreadful. They can barely put 3 passes together that doesn't include Nardi.

Once again starting with Smyth as a centre forward in the absence of Frey is just stupid. It totally failed against WBA so why does he think it would work today?

I can't believe that once again QPR look like throwing away a 10+ points lead away to slip into the relegation battle. I said to a fellow QPR fan 4 weeks ago that the 2 wins we need were going to be difficult to achieve the way we were playing, but I hoped it wouldn't be the case.

Injuries haven't helped, but these tactics are not going to either. Get Lloyd on the pitch alongside Smyth or maybe even push Dunne up front to at least add a focal point and give something for the Stoke defence to deal with.

Ten-man Baggies latest to trap QPR in low block ball-ache – Report
at 15:15 11 Mar 2025

I wanted to see Dunne pushed up into a CF role too. He could have put Ashby at RB and that would have given QPR a much better chance of scoring.

QPR created very little throughout the match and will struggle again tonight if Frey is out.

Maybe he should play Dunne as a CF tonight. He can't be any worse than Smyth or Lloyd in that role.

Dud strikers that we thought were going to convert into 20 goal, 1 in 2 hit-men
at 15:05 11 Mar 2025

I also thought that Sylla was not as bad as some fans thought. He was probably the best we have bought since Austin in 2013.

I expected a lot more from the likes of Washington, Dykes, Bonne and now Celar.

As for strikers in years gone by, I also hoped Peter Eastoe and Micky Walsh would have scored more than they did.

Then there was the likes of Hateley, Sheron and Cureton.

Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient
at 20:48 15 Feb 2025

Jamie Vardy was a late developer and more recently, but to a lesser extent, Carlton Morris

Also, if Kelman was given a 1 year contract and then sent out on loan, that wouldn't make sense, so perhaps he was given a 1 + 1 year option. o

If there is an option on his deal, i would perhaps give him a pre season and the early season games to see if he can play in the Championship. He certainly can't be worse than Celar was prior to the Cardiff game.

If he needs funding to get a new dog perhaps the club could organise a collection to raise funds. I'd be more than happy to contribute.

It is a waste of space if they are not going to show the game. It makes it easier to see what is going on in areas where we can't see from our seats, such as along the touchline if sitting in the SA Road stand.
