Off abroad before end of the Euros and like to watch with English comms, plus get cricket on Sky. Anyone got any advice on the most likely one to work around the Beeb and Sky abroad? I've tried a couple in the past, but they were quite hit and miss...
Cheers

Well, no, not really.
As usual with this board there's a lack of understanding of context or nuance.

Equally, I don't think it's wrong or unscrupulous to talk to other clubs.

Potential update on Illias Chair...

But we still don't know context.

What if the guy had his hand raised about to hit Ilias's girlfriend? Or had hit her already? What if the other guy had a rock or a weapon?

I'm not excusing it, but as I've said on this subject a number of times, none of us were there. Equally, the fact he's been given community service for what seems like a pretty bad assault strongly suggests there is more to the story.

Wondering whether you can get a decent England XI of QPR players. Rule is they mustโ€™ve got England caps while playing for us.

So farโ€ฆ

Seaman
Bardsley Parker Fenwick
Thomas Francis (c) Venables (i think?) Sinton
Ferdinand Bowles

Missing a left back. Any ideas? Sansom not eligible.

Klopp played him there loads this season (after criticising Gareth for doing it).

Weeelllll, I wonder if Bellingham should drop deeper. That's a problem position, and he can play there, and he'll still get up to support the forwards. Then you can play Foden in the middle and Gordon or Eze on the left. Bellingham played quite deep a lot of the time anyway, I don't think it would have an enormous effect on his game.

Well, the last manager who dismissed the rumours very openly, and got a flag for his trouble was Honest Mick.

Managers are far better off saying nothing, and I don't blame them.

No not at all. I have no idea, that's my point!

As for people at the club, I'm talking about where fans attach blame for the signing. Some will say Beale, some will say Belk, some will say Les - truth could be any or two or both; so if someone says 'well, I heard it was all Beale's doing from someone at the club' it might not be reliable, as that's a convenient scapegoat to have - although it could also be true, so it's pointless to try and blame one person or another because it's almost impossible to really know exactly what happened. And, yes, perhaps it's all Belk's/Les's/Beale's/Ramsey's fault for not forseeing the disaster- but ultimately it is up to the player to be a professional, isn't it?
Not sure what I said to elicit such a sarcy response, but you got the wrong end of the stick there - I'm certainly not claiming to be ITK. I did know someone very well who worked at the club for many years, and he would occasionally tell me things, but I soon realised some were true and some were his interpretation that would be disputed by others.

Here's an example. Think it's safe to tell. I know a journalist who was speaking to a player of ours years ago, at the time we sold Dean Parrett. He said to the journo that it was a dodgy transfer because he saw Paladini and Gregory laughing and hugging and being delighted just after it went through. You'll remember at the time that we were all gutted Parrett left, and this played into the feeling something nefarious was going on. With the benefit of hindsight it seems to me that, if this did happen, it's actually more plausible that Gregory had orchestrated the whole thing, talked Parrett up (which he did), talked about getting him in the first team at what, 15, 16 (which he did - talk about, I mean), and managed to get ยฃ1m for a player that, ultimately, he knew would not make the grade. And he didn't. So perhaps they were delighted for getting such a huge figure for a teenager he actually didn't rate, and it was vital money for the club at a time where it was (as per) skint.

Now, the player told my friend that story. That's a fact. But who is to say whether it happend, and if it did, what the reason for their delight was? Everyone has their own truths.

We certainly don't have what Brentford or Brighton have. It's not a bit of software you can buy off the shelf.

Agree, and we should also remember while we say that sunderland look like a nightmare, that the club he came to 9 months ago were pretty much the gourmet equivalent of half a big mac run over by a bus and lying in the gutter.

I'd disagree with the last point unless it was a very big offer - like most managers, I suspect he was very keen to get to England and, eventually, manage in the Prem.

Yes, if only serially successful football manager Cifuentes could have seen what the average fan knew well before him, everything would have worked out better.

I expect he expected the players to do much better than they did. Was this not the game he showed them at half time the 20 times they played the same wrong ball?

and there's my point, plenty will seek to blame Beale, others will blame Belk. No one knows and even people at the club will seek to jump on one side or the other. Also, rather than blame staff, there's only really one person to blame, and it's the man himself.

As with any pile on, no one really knows. They think they know, or someone told them, so they know it's gospel. Everyone has their own truths and their own axes to grind and their own arse to cover.
