He clearly has an affinity with us as well as unfinished business. I think personally he’d make a v good grown-up CEO/DOF but I did get the impression he still wants to coach/manage.
I like him and would welcome him back.

I do think he has a lot of wider relevant experience tho Brian. Granted only 2 years as a DOF, but many years working in Academy coaching roles, plus of course Manager roles across a range of basket case clubs and owners, married to the fact he is clearly a very highly driven, intelligent guy with a strong finance background. Actually think he’d make a great “Sporting CEO” (TM Nourry Geller), a proper one. He would also insist on high standards and as someone else said not just be. Yes Man to the Board.
That said, the excellent interview with Conner sounds like he wants to be a Manager. |

Yes, she is still around, suffering from vascular dementia. When I heard the news I immediately thought how awful and distressing it will be for her. Very sad

I think the answer lies partly in the fact that our owners are man childs (man children…what’s the right collective noun for a group of man childs?) themselves to an extent, certainly not successful businessmen. All they have “done” is inherited wealth rather than created it. [Post edited 12 Nov 22:17]

Great write up Clive, a good point but frustrating watch nonetheless. The number of 50/50s lost in midfield was astonishing, almost as astonishing as our stout defending. So a good point but as Brian says nothing to get too excited by.
In other news, am I alone in tittering to their Defender apparently being called Maximum Steve…sounds like a career in porn awaits after retirement . |
