Hoilett
at 12:32 3 Mar 2014

Sorry if this has been mentioned but does anyone understand what Harry achieves by taking Hoilett off after an hour of most games. Agreed he's been a huge disappointment but surely we need to build him up as we have little threat within the team. He seems to be over his injuries so 90 minutes should be a must and the options are no better.

The change of formation when he took Hoilett off failed miserably also as relinquished possession when we went 2 up front and Morrison wide took him out of the game also.

parking around LR

Is there still a car park on South Africa Road on matchday? If not, where's the nearest paid parking assuming it's still a nightmare to park around the ground. Appreciated.

So Everton next, what will Hughes do?
at 09:14 9 Oct 2012

A good game for us albeit a very tough one but I feel as they have expectancy now I'm not sure they will live up to their good start although they will fancy a win here. Big question for Hughes is that Everton's main threat comes from Baines and therefore will he stick with SWP to try and stop that threat??

It is a myth that SWP is a defensive wide midfielder as when all else fails the least you expect from a player is to work hard. So at the moment he is doing the least you can expect from a player and that is not good enough. We have to attack Everton and although respect what Everton can do he has to go at them from the start. Hill cannot start at left back and must be considered as a centre half only and therefore deserves his place alongside Nelsen.

I would play 4-2-3-1 and then our attacking 3 can hopefully push their full backs and wide players back as long as we can hold possesion in the middle of midfield.

Lot's of questions for Hughes, does he have the answers?

Non Qpr - Andy Carroll

Rumour has it on Twitter West Ham have bid 18m for Carroll!!!! Not sure I can see him going there and that's a lot of money for them to spend in 1 hit. Didn't realise the owners were that rich???

So it looks like Rob Green...

Not my first choice and I'm sure many feel the same but on a "free" and a good keeper. With no transfer fee it makes sense as we can spend that money elsewhere.

apparently only a medical to complete and he's ours (according to Lee Clayton who knows his West Ham stuff)

starting 11/formation
at 14:03 20 Mar 2012

So how do we go about staying in the PL? Assuming that Barton won't ever be dropped but needing to accomodate Taarabt and get him in good areas do we knock our wide players on the head and play :
Young/Onouha/Ferdinand/Traore
Barton/Diakite/Buz
Tarbs
Cisse/Zamora

We have no option IMO but to go at teams especially at home and SWP/Mackie are not performing over 90 mins so would be better served as impact players for now so I'd like to see us try the above. Although Hill deserves to keep his place I'd go with this defence as by playing a more expansive game we'd need the pace it can offer.

Discuss.

Cisse
at 10:34 19 Mar 2012

As much as we take what players say with a pinch of salt in the build up to games I'm liking what I see and hear from Cisse. More so because I believe he is the one real class act we have and from what he has shown so far he can score the goals to keep us up. i accept the red card was a massive negative but what's done is done and he seems to care for the club already (or am I just a little naive?)

Just hope the rest of the team can pull a few perfomances out in the next few weeks as he can't do it alone.

England's fascination with young players
at 11:29 7 Feb 2012

Thought I'd change the subject from all the Barton/Cisse/SWP bashing and talk about our fantastic international team!!!

I've read today that Oxlade Chamberlain is being lined up for the next England squad. When will we ever learn that we need to build a team first and not just hope the next bright talent is going to make the difference. IMO He should remain under 21 and learn his trade as he has had 3 or 4 games in a under performing Arsenal team and has looked decent. At this rate we will have another Walcott scenario on the cards.

Dyer and Sinclair at Swansea have performed all season and to be overlooked for Oxlade Chamberlain would be disappointing. Currently we have at least 6 decent options in the wide position who have played for many seasons now that deserve a run in the team (Young / Johnson / Milner / Lennon) ahead of him.

England will never win anything (probably should stop there) if we don't start building a team and not just throwing in the next big hope when they come along. Not since Venables has a player actually had time to bed into a team when not playing particularily well (Sheringham) so be nice if Capello leaves now and let someone who gives a shit have a go.

Faurlin / Buzsaky
at 10:38 23 Jan 2012

Having seen what Buz has done in the last few games does anyone wonder why he couldn't have played in the middle alongside Faurlin as it seems to me he is only getting in as a replacement yet on Sat Barton was doing the Faurlin role.

Warnock clearly didn't rate him and I'm pleased that Hughes has given him a chance and he has taken it. When he did play under NW I felt he was asked to play a role that didn't suit him so I just hope he stays fit and can remain consistent as he brings potential goals from central midfield which we haven't had for some time.

Long may it continue.
