Just to politely ask when the thread stuck at the top of the page will be removed. Every time I see āCookies popup issuesā I think oh fck not another one - now Steve Cook has done a hernia/groin/exploding bollock
Too harsh. Respect to W7R for the enthusiasm shown but theyāre just not ready for the cut and thrust of Championship-level match-thread starting. Needs a season long loan out to mumsnet or a similar board then letās reassess the situation.
Steve Cook & Jake Clarke-Balsa-Wood in defence Saturday. Edwards in Midfield. Dunne Centre-Forward. Bennie in goal. Jude the cat on the bench. Ben Williams - on yer bike!
Iām sure Iāve read that to accompany the first BBC radio football commentary (1930s?) the Radio Times had a page with a football pitch with numbered squares and alongside the commentary a separate voice would just say which number square the ball was in. The listener was advised to use a coin and move it according to the numbered square the ball was in. Didnāt know thatās where the phrase āback to square one originatedā great knowledge if so.
I donāt watch much telly anymore so am not really up with modern commentators but my least favourite is a woman - donāt know her name but she sounds like sheās doing a bad impersonation of Kathy Burke. I couldnāt resist watching the highlights on my phone of Arsenal bottling it at Wolves the other night and there she was - still employed. She sounds demented. Btw: Iād love to hear Kathty Burke commentate. I listen to more radio commentary but if i join a game and Robbie Savage is doing the āexpertā analysis I immediately change the station, listen to music instead, and follow the score by other means. His voice sounds like one of those squeaky toys people throw to dogs in the park.
I feel sorry for the man. Heās the Prince of England. The Kingās brother. A man of privilege and entitlement born to rule over us. In any other era, in any other century his despicable, immoral, do what I want, shag who I want behaviour would just be seen as part of his regal role. But in this day and age he is pilloried, hounded, arrested and set to lose his royal lineage. Itās utter woke madness!
