Perhaps it's just as well that the players seem to have more faith in him than you.😄 |

I just loved Jakes interview after last night's game. I must admit I thought he might be feeling disillusioned this season with not playing as often as he may have expected. How wrong was I. He was articulate, speaking with real enthusiasm about the team, the manager and the closeness and belief of the squad. He also said how pleased he was to have Pritchard back in the team, a player with skill and experience and one he feels he can learn from. If anyone has a doubt about the strength of belief and unity that Jim has created in this group they should listen to this interview from a young player not currently in the starting lineup but who sees himself as part of something special. |

Its great that we won but if we are serious about trying to win this league we need to be much more prepared to test the opposition goalkeeper. Its fine working the ball in and around the area but if we do not fire in a shot when an opportunity occurs (which it did several times in this game) we will always be vulnerable to the lucky hit or goal against the run of play. Surely the management team must see when reviewing games how many chances to shoot we turn down in favour of an extra pass. We have got away with it in a number of matches this season because of stoic and spirited defending but it should not be necessary to be biting finger nails when we have dominated a poor team like we have today. |

The wind was a major factor today. Both teams struggled to master the conditions but we got there in the end. I also thought that the cameo by Amanchi was as good as he has been, although still can't see him being here when the loan period expires. |

As predicted a great contest in which we are more than holding our own. two really good opportunities missed before their goal. a great response from Dale and cracking goal from Toby. |

It will be interesting to see in this game what our coaching team have learned from our cup game defeat to York. Hopefully, to have a man on the edge of the area to close down the shot following corners etc. We can't afford to give Newby the time and space he got last time. On a positive note the team should be encouraged by the way we had York rocking for a spell after we had equalised. It should be a great game, hopefully we are ruthless with our chances when they arise and our captain has the correct studs in this week 😄 |

This match will be off. We know the pitch is incapable of taking significant rainfall, we know the weather forecast over the next two days. The Club needs to grasp the nettle and state up front the true position and rearrange the match for 6th December when both clubs are available. To not do so would be a failure to those fans who have to make travelling plans and not least the Scunthorpe away followers. |

What an advert for National League football that was. Boreham Wood were excellent and gave York a stern test and were well worth their point. Abdullmallik was a real handful for York. On the evidence of that match our performance earlier this season should be marked up. If they remain relatively injury free with there small squad they will continue to be a threat to all. |

Acid test for Boreham Wood tonight at York. A win would take them above us (having played two more games) but it's a tough ask with York in form. A win for York would put them five points behind us having played a game more. Ideal scenario would be a draw, fingers crossed. |

Oli appeared iin one of the two games played by the under 19's over the last ten days. If as expected he is called up for their U19's Euro qualifiers in November he will miss the games against York away and Aldershot at home. Unfortunately, he will be a big miss which does speak volumes for the impact he has made since being here. Nevertheless, all credit to him and I hope if selected he does well and continues his progress up the ranks. [Post edited 16 Oct 12:36]

Whatmuff called up now as well. He will be a big miss for us on his performances this season. |

Still a very professional performance. Once again the opposition were outclassed and literally had to throw care to the wind. We handled the pressure when it came. Only criticism for me was the timing of the Alakariah substitution which was far too late. He was clearly struggling to contain his opponent and being targeted. Berkoe should have been on at least 15 minutes before their goal. |

I am sure everyone will be looking forward to the game tonight following the general disappointment and frustration of the inevitable postponement on Saturday of what is fast becoming known as the 'Crown Oil Swamp'. Great weather over the past few days has meant that the pitch should have returned to the standard we expect which hopefully will allow us to perform at our best. Following a change of manager Moors have become more resilient away from home and are unlikely to be set up to play an open expansive game. If as against York they opt to sit back, soak up the pressure (in their goalkeeper Walker I think they have one of the best shot stoppers in the league) and play on the break, its vital we hit the road running and as importantly make the most of our chances when they arise. Our run of form certainly makes us favourites, although it could be argued we could have put away more of the opportunities we have made when on top in previous games. It would risky to be profligate today, so come on Dale, even without Mani, lets be ruthless and make it five in a row and prove to the league we are serious contenders. Even bigger challenges await around the corner lets face those in form. |

Burgers body language and facial expression spoke volumes after he scored. He is obviously far from happy with his current situation within the squad and was only used today when Mancini was injured. Pettit looked to be trying to gee him up as they walked back to the centre circle after the goal. Always thought it would be tough for Jim to keep everyone happy. With Mancini injured again it might be an opportunity for Burger to re establish himself in the matchday squad ? I hope so. |

Why would you think Amantchi wouldn't stay. Walsall clearly don't need him and we do. His chance is likely to come with more playing time this week particularly on Saturday in the absence of Mani. I doubt very much that when he came he was expecting to be first choice. Hopefully he will prove his worth in the next few days because he really should be a threat at this level. |

The mysterious leader of the new consortium is named as a JONNY CATO. Give me strength !! No known football connection or business connection as far as can be ascertained, except for an obscure Swedish politician who is highly unlikely to be the same Jonny Cato.. You just have to weep for the Morecambe fans who are in despair. |
