Great to see Jonathan Varane getting back to some kind of form, one of his best nights was in the Oxford away win a few seasons ago when Nico Madsen & him ran the midfield and Varane was serenaded by the Rangers fans at full time. Hasn’t happened enough for him lately.
This was start of the Nico redemption arc and would love to see Varane push on this season.
Did any previous interest/bids unsettle JV and affect his form & confidence? He could be crucial if fit and firing this season.
The elephant in the room is of course that we need to sell players this season and bring in cash.
I totally get if any decent offers came in for Varane or any of our players at the perceived right price they would be up the road but is the interest/bids there this transfer window?
Koki Saito would be the player I think we could afford to lose as it felt a bit of a luxury signing at the time when other positions were in more need. He would be the first out for me as much as I think he’s a great guy and a decent enough player & has international experience, versatile and is no doubt a positive force around the place. If he stays and gets his smile and form back then great! I would play him wing back personally.
It’s just down to the reality of the financial situation, we have to buy low and sell high.
Persinally would love to see Rayan Kolli be introduced back into the fold as he would be worth a lot more after scoring plenty of goals in a winning team if this is what is important now. I just see a young player who has been at the club since he was at primary school. Let’s help and support him rather than force him out.
Number 8 and 9 shirts haven’t been allocated yet so perhaps the loan market will come into play.

Felt like more than circa 700 yesterday. Leicester official are saying 1,595.
Poor form from the players that only Austin, Fer and belatedly Barton, after some booing, came over to the away end at the end.

Excellent article - thanks Clive.
It is all rather sad that Neil has left and there does feel to be some unfinished business for him but the takeover kicking so late in the day meant his hands were tied.
Losing Anton Ferdinand at Liverpool in December I felt was key plus some unlucky decisions in recent games & poor performances has forced TF's hand but only time will tell if now was the right time to make a change.
Thank you Neil Warnock - winning the Championship is something we will always be grateful for & we'll never forget what you have done for QPR FC.
