Hi All
Just had a telephone call from Devaun Green Deal Services, apparently the Green Deal is a government initiative to help the carbon footprint. ( http://www.dvgreendealservices.co.uk)
They asked me questions about inside/hardwall/attic insulation, how old my boiler was - because they would replace if more than 6 years, or less than 80% productive, etc. They also said they would check the windows for drafts, condensation, and replace seals, etc.
You pay £299+VAT, a Green Deal (government) surveyor comes around to check what is needed, then they get on and do it.
Seems a bit too good for me, the guy seemed a bit salesy too. He said, "if you pay by credit card, it gives you the protection and reassurance that you can cancel the payment, etc" He also said "Have you got a credit card, I can take your details now, then send a contract out in the post".
Advice please.
