There's still quite a bit of flair through our team - explains why Kamara gets in ahead of Varane, Saito ahead of Smyth and you've got the likes of Edwards who can turn it on. The Gods are smiling on my county, Kent. Northants were strolling to a comfortable win to cement automatic promotion to Div One until the heavens opened this last hour. Oh, the English cricket season. The sparkle of raindrops on the outfield, the swish of covers being drawn across the square, the wistful looks of umpires into their light meters.

Are these loans such a good thing ? Quite a few good prospects are going out and not getting minutes. Look at Alfie Lloyd. Spent last season sat on the bench at Lincoln. Rightly or wrongly they went with their own. Looks the same with Morgan. Question for the F.F. ? |

Times change. Either people don't have the money or they don't have the time. And then if they do have the time and money it's more than likely that they have other tastes. Weekday/lunchtime boozers soon to become museums I would say. [Post edited 10 Sep 17:17]

Another consideration. You keep those U21 players around and you can have a better stab at the Carabao Cup.
I know it costs money to keep them on all season - maybe just as squad players and not playing until Oct/Nov or March/April when injuries and suspensions hit hard but I am sure that the risk-reward of going further in a Cup and maybe getting into the play-offs would justify the retention of one or two of them. |

We shouldn't have loaned out our U21 1st team squad players - Morgan, Bennie, Tylon Smith, Pearman, Sanyalou. We're going to be putting kids in like Scarlett, Akendilini and Sutton who are below the aforementioned in the pecking order. |

The problem is that because we only operate with about 8 or 9 players who operate at anything near 100% for large parts of the season we have players either playing within themselves (Madsen), filling in (Adamson) or simply not ready (Scarlett) and consequently, it won't be long before our objectives get realigned and it becomes about staying in the division. In my opinion we should not have let the good U21 players who we could have added to the 25 go out on loan - Morgan and particularly Bennie tonight would have been good options coming off the bench and would almost 100% have been used before we reach Jan when we can have another go at buying some players who are actually fit-for-purpose. |

Not convinced by Vale out wide. Smyth hasn't been great either but I believe he can come good. I'd be tempted to go with Burrell and Smyth wide with Lloyd as a lone cf. |

Black Uhuru - great mix of stonking dub and bass, earthy vocals and jingly beats in the 80's - synthetic, poppy, dross in the 2000's
But quite a few reggae bands seem to go that way - Bob was the same and Aswad also, to a degree. They get tamed. |

Good commentary, thanks, although I don't understand this sentence :
'We had six shots all game, four on target to their 13 with 6 on target. Our total number of shots exceeded theirs yesterday'
Agree with your thoughts though. First half I thought we were a little cautious with a lot of triangles at the back which didn't really get us up the field - second half, much more on the front foot and higher, with towards the end, just one or two centre backs up towards the half-way line and everyone else in their half.
Couple of observations from me. Yes, last season they were much more fluid all over the park - the CM who I assume they brought in to replace Hayden Hackney (Morris) was pretty predictable and that Conway up front, my goodness, it was like watching a vision of Charlie Kelman in 10 years time. How much did they spunk on him ?
As you say, quite an encouraging second half but if we are going to rotate a 25 man squad this season then we need them all to hit the ground running - although I'm sure Ben is working on that. |

Nonsense. He is here until Jan at least. He'll be back training - we only need a couple of injuries up front and he is on the bench at least. |
