I just thought to aim that particular question at JS was a bit low. What was he expected to say? If the correct answer was yes then of course he's not going to admit to being a puppet. If the correct answer was no then I understand JS's reaction to a disrespectful question when he has just started a new job. I haven't commented on DMC's qualities as a journalist or kicked the press other than to say that particular question aimed at a new manager struck me as showing a lack of respect.
There was an interview not long after he joined where DMC asked him a question intimating that somebody else was picking the team. JS was irritated by that and asked whether that was a serious question. I don't blame him. Seemed a petty dig to me.
