Hopefully we can get the result we need next week and get back into the EFL, I agree there are some good former EFL teams in the NL. Shrimper good luck in the FA Trophy final and hopefully you will win it,in fact you you deserve to win it, because Southend are a good team, with a good fan base as well. [Post edited 3 May 19:08]

I will give credit, were credit is due, Scunthorpe are potentially the dirtiest team, I have seen for some time, there is physical and there is dirty, and they dirty. The challenge on Whatmuff in the second half, when he had cleared the ball was shocking. I am amazed only five Scunthorpe players got booked. Rochdale being Rochdale never make things easy, we were on top throughout the game and should have been more goals in front, but concede a sloppy goal to test our nerves, but we held on thankfully. Rochdale were excellent today in mixing the style of play and I feel Pettit may be a starter next week. I wonder how bad the knock Moss got, but it was a pleasant surprise to see Beckwith back on the bench and also being given minutes as well. In my humble opinion Perry deserved the Man of the Match, he was outstanding to day. |

I would agree that since Allarakhia can been indifferent, I like JK Gordon, Luke Hannant seems to better coming on as sub. I think he will will pick Moss as the wide man and Barlow in the middle. Would you put Myles on the bench, because Whatmuff seem to take a knock last week and not having a GK cover in such a crucial game is worrying. |

I do apologise, I decided to edit it, by removing my believe that Maher could manage in the EFL, so not to upset the Southend fans ranting about him. |

Scunthorpe will be a tough game and the goal scorer, Roberts is a player that I would like the Dale to sign. I most admit I did expect Southend to sneak it, because of players like Dallas and Cardwell, but give credit to Scunthorpe they out fought Southend. [Post edited 28 Apr 22:16]

I think Smith is a good footballer, but he is more of an impact sub, rather then a starter. Sam Waller signed a 6 month contract at Harrogate in January and to my knowledge he as not played a game for them, he seems to be the sub goalkeeper. I don't know what Moulden is doing. We will miss Whatmuff next season and hopefully we give him a leaving present of a playoff winners medal. |

Agree, but Sunday is not a normal league game, it is one of two potential cup finals, so the team selection needs to be spot on. I can understand selecting Moss on Saturday to help nullify York attacking potential and it worked to an extent, but at the same it also impacted on our own attacks. I thought Hannant was poor on Saturday, so do you keep Moss in the team and replace Hannant with either Barlow or Pettit. So allowing Moss to keep the defensive element in the team. There have been criticism of Rodney and at times it is justified, but if he is used with Mani in a central role, he can be effective with his size and creating opportunities for Mani, but far to often he drifts into a wide role, leaving Mani isolated. McNulty needs to tell him to take on the oppositions central defenders and create problems for them, allowing others to get chances to shoot. |

Sadly, I think that most of those who went onto the pitch are not true Dale fans, who turn up week in, week out, but turn up for the big games, either way, they allowed York to compose themselves, which even the York manager admitted. Now we must clear our minds, put the disappointments to one side and the players must become determined to finish the job next week and hopefully the week after. [Post edited 26 Apr 15:16]

I having looked at other club forums, they all agree the fans who invaded the pitch costed us, in that it allowed York to get organised for one more chance. No doubt these fans are proud of themselves. There is also a debate on the forums if the York goal was in or not. Mcnulty and the team was clearly devastated, but McNulty can sit them down, motivate them and say, two more games and we achieved our goal. At least the game is only a week off, whereas York last season had two weeks without a game, which may be a factor that cost York last season, but may benefit us. I just hope McNulty and the team can be focused for next week and get us into the final. |

After so many decades of watching the Dale, we may be cursed, I am fearful of next Sunday, both Southend and Scunthorpe seem to have a jinx over us in recent years. |

With 2 minutes to go those F'ing fans who invaded the pitch, cost us the game, the referee stop the game for around 5 minutes, giving York time to get organised. I hope they are proud of themselves. Some are claiming the ball for the York goal never crossed the line, I would be interested in seeing the video of their goal. |

Did I hear a York city player say nine minutes, as in shock we had been given nine minutes injury time, this from team that had nine minutes injury time, more then once this season. Did they not score in the 99th minute at Morecambe to win, but they did looked peeved that we scored to win the game. I wonder how the fans reacted, having thought they had won promotion, only to find we scored a winner. Next Saturday, we know we have to win and we can't play for a draw, it will be nerve wracking to say the least. [Post edited 19 Apr 12:50]

Watching the Dale is not good for your health at the moment, at 1-1 in the 96th minute, I had become depressed, but in the 99th I was elated. |

I think we should be praying to the football gods tonight, it was tough today. I thought Mani D was isolated in the first half, with the high balls, which against a bloody big Wealdstone team, some of them were built like heavy weight boxers, which made it difficult for him and Smith. We also looked disjointed and to be fair Wealdstone exploited this, but to be honest we were poor for good parts of the game. However a win is a win. The introduction of Hannant, JK Gordon, Hendo, Rodney and Francis made a massive difference, in that Hannant and JK Gordon used the wings very effectively to get the ball into the box and Francis chip into the box to Hendo was excellent. It shows what we can do and crucially keeps us within a chance of still winning the title. Can any tell me why was the header disallowed in the second half. |

We should have to depend on Tamworth or focus on York results over the next two games, we must win the next three, draws are useless. It is possible, but McNulty needs to get the team to attack with pace and shoot at every opportunity, rather passing sideways. Nevertheless I be praying that Tamworth does us a favour by denying York a win, but at the end of the day, it is up to us to get the results we need. Yes, we can do it, but the team and management must approach the games without fear and in the knowledge that they are more then capable of winning the next three games. [Post edited 10 Apr 12:22]

Yes,I agree, that if we win the final three games, we are up, but we need a manager to realise his mistakes and attack with pace and purpose, because we have nothing to lose now in not doing so. Sadly I cannot McNulty changing anything. |

If York had not scored, a point would have been okay, but York winning as been a kick in the nether regions. We must prepare for the playoffs now, I fear and hope we can regain some improved form. Sometimes I wonder what they do in training, do they spend it passing the ball in triangles, even when were winning, we seem to want to walk it into the goal. I will be interested in what McNulty as to say. Problem is other teams know we play sideways possession football, with no pace and plan accordingly, and sadly McNulty cannot change and that will cost us this season, I fear. Firstly you have to give credit to Morecambe and Bentley for the way they played, they played with a team with nothing to lose. The first thirty minutes we played well, without creating much, but our style is to pedestrian, we seem to keep the same style of passing sideways, looking for gaps and teams know this, they just sit back and counter attack with purpose, we also tend to score and sit back in games. Yes, we are have reached 98 points with this style, yet as others have pointed out, Mcnulty as not learned to be flexible in his tactics and I feel this will cost us this season. I have accepted that we will be in the playoffs now, but am concerned we will bugger up once again. I hope I am wrong and go into the York game knowing a win will take us up. |
