Should we change the walkout music?
at 20:21 14 Jun 2023

Aaron Copeland was the composer not the artiste. It was originally written as an orchestral piece and I'm not sure ELP added anything but volume.

Perhaps they believed the rumour that he was going to resign at the end of the season.

Dion Dublin is not perfect but he has wide ranging experience. Micah Richards seems to be there to as a stooge and for his braying (donkey like) laugh.

As an avid listener to test match special on the Beeb, I hope Sky recruit Dan Norcross with an exclusive contract. He has some knowledge of the game but is overly anxious to prove it. Subtle he is not, he speaks in a monotone and above all he is BORING!

I'd be more interested in the ones you do like. Like and unlike is a matter of taste in most cases but at least naming the ones you like and why is constructive and instructive.

Also for Northern Soulies are "A Little Bit of Something, Is better than nothing" and his version of "Function at the Junction"

Try the album "Get Down With It" the Okeh Sessions, originally recorded in 1967

Books to read
at 20:18 9 Apr 2020

I prefer factual books to fiction, I like travel books and have a passion for History. I have quite a few books on the history of religion.

Unfortunately all my books are in storage because of a flood.
I started to read "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tarte but couldn't get into it. I will try it again when I get it back. The Secret History seemed to be more accessible.
I would recommend "Mission" by Patrick Tilley, fiction but thought provoking.

Should diplomatic immunity still exist
at 22:32 7 Oct 2019

Yes of course it should, it's necessary for diplomacy to work effectively. Just like the law the rules shouldn't be changed because of one infringement.

Superstition
at 22:11 5 Sep 2019

Superstition wasn't voted the best Motown song of all time. The criteria was the most downloaded and/or streamed Motown record. Therefore only taking into account the last "???" years. Consequently despite being a big Motown fan I only listened intermittently.

Tidbits is the American spelling of the English Titbits. They are apparently too sensitive about the correct spelling of an innocuous word but not about selling guns to rednecks or bombing innocents

Can we do this..?
at 17:05 19 Mar 2019

A siege mentality from all supporters won't help much. Loud and active support will encourage.
The manager using all his experience and knowledge and the players playing above their potential might.

Club confirm Hill departure
at 22:04 8 Mar 2019

The first time I went to Spotland was in 1973, the year the club was demoted to the then Division 4. I know that's not as long as some but longer than most.
I haven't been as consistent an attender over the years as I would like to have been, but under Keith Hill's managership I have seen some of the best and most consistent football ever.
I am have looked at this forum from afar for the past two years and have been appalled by the spiteful and ill-informed comments of many and the derision aimed at those who have defended the manager.
I doubt that the ill considered opinions on here about the manager have persuaded the new board, they probably have their own agenda but to those who will deride this post, if you can be bothered to support your local team, enjoy the dross.
