Not the most attractive game but a battle that we won. Moss was fantastic again and a great shift put in by all. Gilmour was better in midfield. Have to say the standout in the past few games though has been flint. It’s amazing how sometimes a player joins the club and you just know that are a perfect fit. Flint seems to be a “perfect fit” for Dale. Slotted straight in, commands, communicates and “gets it”. What have we learnt for today, hopefully that we can keep it tight and grind out results.
Ramming is still a major concern and not ready for this season. Hopefully IW sees this |

The only positive I can pull from this is we are not losing.
Mani is absolutely shocking. Gilmour is about to get sent off. Midfield is all over the place, second to every ball. It doesn’t end |

We just don’t look like we are ever going to create anything though. It’s a dire watch again with last ditch defending. No flair and shape is all over the place. Mani is marked out of the game again and having wide players is great if you’re going to get balls into the box. See a late Walsall winner here sadly.
We also sit bottom of the league based on current results. |

Done is best mates with Hendo and I don’t think for one minute that Hendo didn’t have some sway in bringing done in. Have to agree that a full departure of the core background staff was debilitating . The team took a huge turn when done and Taylor came in to support Jim.
That was not a good watch and a polar opposite from last years positivity, which given the current on field debacle is understandable. This documentary if picked up by a decent company ‘preying Netflix’ could be the saving grace.
Watson’s body language was that of a drowning man. I really hope he can change this around, but if you zoom in on the discussion around bringing in someone to oversee ie director or football and how nothing gets past the head coaches recruitment, he looks so uncomfortable.
Seems like a nice guy but not sure that was the rally call we all needed. |

Mani is being both man handled and not strong enough to hold up the ball which led to their goal. We have not been terrible but also not done much. All these balls into the box are great but you have to have a target. Would have draw written all over it but wonder goals changes games.

All over the place again. Zero effect in the final third on the rare occasion we get there. Moss the shining light in a poor start.

Having played a fair bit of football, despite if you buy into the managers ideology or not, you don’t play like today. It’s the most disjointed, could not give a flying effort I have ever seen. Individually they may have not even bothered showing up. I did not see more than two passes that connected all game. This hold on to the ball and dribble rubbish is not modern football. If you’re going to do that do it in the opposition box or at least in the final third. Many dale fans are half glass full and let’s take the positives, but I saw absolutely nothing in that and have not all pre season. I will always be grateful to have a club after what we went through and I, A million percent agree we will have challenging periods where we have to compete with the money clubs but today on opening game in a return to the league football as a disgrace. |

I’m not sure on what planet you are 2-0 down and playing tippy tap football on your own box and doing it badly. Newport must be pissing themselves at this. One up front with mani who I don’t think has touched the ball, Rodney is apparently on the pitch. If this is the season we have ahead then every good bit that was done last season is now undone. |

Wow is all I can say. We would be below midtable in non league on that showing. Not created a single moment, second to every ball, defended like a pub team and even the basics of creating two passes looks a mile away. Not one player played well. |

We look absolutely terrible. Second to every ball. Not a touch in midfield. No flow at all. Start of the season should be close and tight and despite injury we look miles away from a team that are awful and tipped to be relegation fodder. This is not how we should be straying a season with this team. |

Gilmour has not played badly. We have been totally overrun and we are not good enough against pressing side to play out from the back. We have absolutely nothing going forward in this game which is worrying. Totally outplayed sadly |

Ebanks is not a league 2 defender anymore. Game has been a fairly non event but small margins make games at this level. We have created nothing but nullified as well. Not Rodney bashing but once again has contributed nothing. Hannant and gillmore the standouts in an average display so far |

Seeing Rochdale bloom is amazing. After years of bad publicity, grooming, poverty and crime, to see Rochdale as the historical picture of growth again is heartwarming. The artwork, flower blooms and general kindness of Rochdale has grown substantially. The Ogden family and everything associated with Rochdale football club have all contributed to this major upturn and long may it continue.
One thing that I’m struggling to comprehend is the decline of the church. Not so much the religion but the historical value of the amazing buildings we have in Rochdale. Religion is what it is and I don’t expect everyone to be at church every Sunday, but some of the most iconic and historic masterpieces of Rochdale history have fallen into demise. Schools could be again involved, community events, different commercial ventures, anything to preserve these building from overgrown decay.
Really hope the Rochdale community continues to be inclusive and grow |

Crazy quiet out of the club. Is this the shhhh we will announce a mega influx and master plan?? Some league 2 clubs have really strengthened and spent big. Going to be a tough year looking at what has been spent and signed. |
