His driving offences took place before we returned to PST, so I think we and everyone else were never going to touch him pending the outcome of the legal case.
His career has gone steadily downhill since the 2022 WC and I'd need some seismic convincing before I'd take a punt on him. |

Given the level of investment from the Emirate of Dubai, I wonder what conversations are going on at the Arsenal? No doubt the cousins in Abu Dhabi will be looking to call in those favours for bailing our Dubai!
The more I think about this, the more the onus might be on former and current Premier league clubs to pursue civil claims and for UEFA to apply the pressure their end. |

Thought Burnham was spot on, handled it well, and given all the dynamics here, handled it as he had to.
The real issue here is about governmental ownership and thus, potential interference. If the UAE, Etihad and Emirati sponsors start getting involved (the last two are essentiallythe government), they're basically trying to use their influence to let City get away with cheating. Simple fact is: what we consider wrong isn't seen in the same way in other parts of the world.
Which is why when you have laws, rules, and standards, then you either stick to them or you might as well throw them out the door! Whether you're a Brit, tubby Malay, Yank, Qatari, Emirati, then these are the rules and if you don't like them, fck off!!
Otherwise the next thing you know: you'll have some tinpot dictator shitting his nappy because his favourite player was sent off and rings his chum up, who just happens to be the head man to reverse the red card, despite it's merits. If we ever got to that stage, then it's truly fuc.....oh!!!! |

Running once a week,15 miles was my target for my last big run three weeks before the race, and the furthest I ever ran in training was 16 miles.
Sure, I'd like to have done more, but if I had done so, then the time needed to recover after the last big run would have impacted my tapering down and thus, fitness would have been lost come race day.
Definitely the adrenaline took me home after 15 miles but the real key to success is: PACE. And pace starts from the first foot over the start line. Remember....

We can but imagine the backdoor shenanigans going on.
Illegality is one thing, but one wonders if the relevant authorities are looking into the potential criminality of the various actors involved here? If I were the auditors, I'd sure as sh1t have my lawyers on speed dial!
This is a real test for the 'integrity' of the PL/the game, and given City's first game after the IB is at Anfield, I can'twait to hear what the scouse wit will come up with. |

Reminds me of a similar set-up in Glasgow I was in a few years ago. However you want to dress it up: it's an Indian restaurant shoe horned into a pub, as opposed to an excellent place I used to go near WBA's ground (The Vines I think) back in the day.
Another here who preferred the Adelaide if I went for a beer after a game and as mentioned above, great when the 6N was on. So that's the Bushranger and the Goldhawk gone, as well as Walkabout which was always lively if you fancied pushing on apres-game. |

And they were all crap!
For it to have been a conspiracy, you'd have also needed Bolton, Stoke, and the officials of both games in on it as well. Very risky strategy to leave it until a few minutes after the Bolton, Stoke game had finished for QPR to throw it away.
That knob Rooney has constantly trolled a conspiracy. Odd seeing he played for a club who similarly scored two very late goals to win a Champions League final, to think such wouldn't happen again. |

Thing is, the Arab mindset starts out big; just look at the Saudis big plans for their sovereign fund, and what's actually going to be delivered. The Dubai Emiraties have over-extended themselves massively and their Abu Dhabi cousins have had to bail them out. As for the Qataris, huge post-2022 plans, now reduced.
Always found the attention spans of some Arabs not to be as deep as their oil wells. I still think they'll look to get out before they consider staying to put right if they get hit hard. |

If we think there's been skulduggary so far, I expect its nothing compared to what will come. I wonder what the owners will do in terms of staying at the helm, and I bet there's a serious thought to 'crashing' the ship to avoid obligations and return as Manchester City 2027!

Good luck to Michelle. Unlike some, I thought NYC a bit overrated and not a patch on the London marathon. Large parts of the former were desolate areas to run through. Plus, the hilly parts seem to come at the wrong times; well, for me they did!! The Queensboro Bridge I found to be a right ol' bastard! That said, the crowds there like many races, brilliant.
Tell Michelle if she's on the bottom half of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge at the start, keep to the middle!!
I'm currently 'in motion' and will put in once I'm back home in a few weeks. |
