Agree. It's as though the mods have gone on holiday and an obvious trouble maker/non fan is attempting to spoil the forum willy nilly. And yet, if a real fan was to post something reminding readers about the wrongdoings of Roger, the post gets deleted before the ink is dry. There's an old saying....remember which side your bread is buttered. |

Other than Mitchell's miss early on, he did sod all yesterday and gave a masterclass in why he will never be a good footballer. In this nutshell there lies a bigger picture. Eyebrows were raised when McNulty took the decision to release Mitchell. On the evidence so far he's made the right call. Likewise, eyebrows were raised when he appeared to put 9 months' trust in a 17 year old keeper. On the evidence so far he's made the right call. Likewise, eyebrows were raised when he put his faith in the ageing EEL to lead the team from the back. On the evidence so far he's made the right call. We can argue about the style of football, and team selections, but ultimately the Manager will live or die by the big decisions he makes. His tinkering annoys me, and the tippy tappy of recent seasons was appalling. But, and it's a big but....the big decisions he made in the summer are, so far, showing him to be a man of good judgement. I still think he got it wrong at Brackley though as I always think you should put out your best team if you want to win the match. [Post edited 5 Oct 16:56]

A fantastic listen and well done to the lads for organising and executing it so well. A great listen and insight into the mechanics of our best ever spell. It also demonstrates the importance of the Manager having a good working relationship with the hierarchy including the CEO. That's the take-away piece from this which present incumbents should heed, as I'm sure they already do. |

I'll add to that. This is the best Dale side I've seen since before lock down. (A low bar to be fair). Watching yesterday reminded me of a Hill side, more so when we are not in possession. At last, we look like we have goals in us and we now have a goalscorer. Whether or not Carlisle were shite or we were particularly good I'm not sure. What I could see is that we were fitter and hungrier than them. Crucially there seemed to be a collectiveness about the bunch to get the job done. At some point soon we will come up against a team whose Manager has devised a way to play against us that might flummox us. Some might even accuse McNulty of sending us out to play badly. When the time comes, we have to hope that the 3 wise men on the bench can tactically out-manouevre the opposition by use of subs and formation change. [Post edited 28 Sep 14:20]

Precisely. There were fans who berated Jim (correctly in my view) for not playing his strongest team at Brackley. And now there are one or two fans suggesting he should use our best striker sparingly. I'm not going to trawl back, but I'll wager there's a bit of hypocrisy going on here. It shouldn't need saying, but we should approach each league match by putting our best side out. Keep repeating this ad nauseam until we run out of players, or fixtures! |

On the fishul site there is a clause which says.... 6. All persons seeking entrance to Rochdale AFC acknowledge RAFC’s right to search any person entering The crown Oil Arena and to refuse entry to or eject from The crown Oil Arena any person refusing to submit to such a search. That suggests it is the club who are responsible. On a more nuanced legal point, season tickets are only issued on the understanding that the customer agrees to the Ground Regs, so by accepting the ticket, I would have thought season ticket holders would be legally exempt from a search on entry. | Forum Reply | Continuing To Reward Failure BBM at 21:04 14 Jun 2025
Not only did he get a secret contract renewal, he was the one who let the cat out of the bag at that fateful fans forum where Roger blubbed his way through the last half hour. For those who cannot remember the sequence, the bearded wonder Director was bumbling his way through an answer on BBM and mentioned the end date of BBM's contract. Had BBM kept his mouth shut at that precise moment, the whole history of the club could have been so much different. Instead, BBM interrupted, announcing he had just signed a contract extension, and suddenly the house of cards Roger had carefully built was blown wide apart, leading to a couple of years of EGMs, lawsuits, new Directors etc. It was at that precise moment everyone knew Roger was not a man to be trusted, and the penny dropped he had to be relieved of his duties. No wonder he started blubbing! The Irishman later tried to hold the club to ransom for a golden handshake in a very underhand way, before engineering his move to City Youth. After City, he has left every club he has worked for in a worse position than when he arrived. By the law of averages, Cardiff might have timed it right! |

"As requested by supporters we have allocated the Study Centre as a Prayer Room." If we didn't piss about with it at the back we wouldn't need a prayer room. |

I'm not entering any spat, but would respectfully remind spatters marketing and advertising are two entirely different things. Emails are one form of marketing. Bus Stop posters are one form of advertising. |

Things like bill boards, bus stops etc are booked well in advance often by big companies buying multiple display sites. Artwork is usually agreed weeks in advance. The cost of this media is also very expensive. Whilst display advertising will always play a part, getting the match onto people's mobile devices is the key which is a science in itself. |

That's a cracking long winded negative diatribe which can be blown apart easily. Not many towns in England have world beating companies although we've had our share in the past. The newest theatre was opened in 1978 by arguably our most famous export after whom it was named. I can think of five food pubs in the Borough which provide fine dining if you're happier spending under £30. If you want a Michelin Star and two mouthfuls for £50 sod off to London! Compare us to a comparable town. You picked Lytham to support your point. I'll pick Scunthorpe. Play your music now! I agree there's an issue with small mindedness and a lack of aspiration, but if anyone who had innovative ideas for Rochdale read your nonsense, they'd understandably have second thoughts. We remain as ever, a town built on its people. Superfluous things like paintings, an Egyptian pot, or John Bright's ink well are just bollocks. EDIT: Just to add that video is the most professional, inspiring thing I've ever seen the club put out beating the Darlington play-off tickets comfortably. [Post edited 7 May 17:45]

There were several eye-witness accounts that a van would turn up every Monday after a Saturday home match onto which a barrel would be loaded never to be seen again. And I mean several. Interesting that since the infamous AGM I don't think anyone has seen the bearded wonder about town, Tesco or Spotland. Like the barrels, he's vanished. |

I think calling Sir Alex a "crap coach" is quite remarkable. I don't like the bloke but a recent "must watch" bbc documentary on his career on th'igh player, would suggest he might be in the top ten coaches the UK has ever produced. |

Yes but in our record season 2016-17 we were playing the likes of Sheffield United, Bolton, Coventry and Charlton. You can't have it both ways. However, I agree BBM was shite but although McNulty gives me the enthusiasm of an upcoming bout of typhoid, his record does actually compare quite well. It's not a load of bollocks as league tables are the only real data fans can compare. |

Well I'm a complete computer retard and I've managed to buy two seats together at the first attempt without any problem, even though I'd forgotten my password and had to reset it. Plus I've printed off the bar code thingy and the whole thing took about 6 minutes. It just goes to show there's always someone worse off than yourself. [Post edited 26 Oct 2024 20:08]

Farewell Chair. As I said to you once, this club has a strange habit of throwing up great individuals at the right time for the right reason. The Main Stand is named after one! You're not in that league though, but you've stepped up at the right time and done a marvelous job. As a fan, thank you. |
