Joke Of The Day
at 20:33 27 Jan 2026

A duck walked into a pub and ordered a pint of beer and a ham sandwich.
The barman looked at him and said, “Hang on! You're a duck!”
"I see your eyes are working,” replied the duck.
"And you can talk!!” exclaimed the barman.
"I see your ears are working, too.” said the duck. "Now if you don't mind, can I have my beer and my sandwich please?"
"Certainly. Sorry about that.” said the barman as he pulled the duck's pint. "It's just we don't get many a ducks in this pub. What are you doing around this way?"
"I'm working on the building site across the road” explained the duck. "I'm a plasterer."
The flabbergasted barman couldn’t believe the duck and wanted to learn more but took the hint when the duck pulled a newspaper from his bag and proceeded to read it.
The duck read his paper, drank his beer, ate his sandwich, paid up, bid the barman a good day and left.
The same thing happened every few days for two weeks.
Then one day the circus came to town.
The ringmaster walked into the pub for a pint and the barman said, "You're with the circus, aren't you? Well, I know this duck that could be just brilliant in your circus. He talks, drinks beer, eats sandwiches, reads the newspaper and everything!"
"Sounds marvelous!” said the ringmaster, handing over his business card. "Get him to give me a call."
The next day when the duck came into the pub the barman said, "Hey Mr. Duck, I reckon I can line you up with a top job, paying really good money."
“Swell. I’m always looking for the next job.” said the duck. "Where is it?”
"At the circus.” said the barman.
"The circus?" repeated the duck.
"That's right.” replied the barman.
"The circus?” the duck asked again.
“With the big tent?”
"Yeah.” the barman replied.
"With all the animals that live in cages and performers who live in caravans?" asked the duck.
"Of course,” the barman replied.
"And the tent has canvas sides and a big canvas roof with a hole in the middle?" persisted the duck.
"That's right.” said the barman.
The duck shook his head in amazement, and said “What the f*ck would they want with a plasterer?”

Finn Azaz
at 12:22 26 Jan 2026

Had the second lowest player rating in the starting line up, yet he created Scienza's goal by controlling Bree's very high crossfield clearance with one touch and laying on an inch perfect pass for Scienza's goal.

He was also the man who put Armstrong through for the one and one on the keeper..

So that surely deserves a better rating, likewise Adam Armstrong, lower than Azaz he had two major chances both well saved yet polls lower than Matsuki.

Leo Scienza has 5 goals and 4 assists, his conversion rate is 9% per shot
.

Adam Armstrong has a conversion rate of 13%

Different positions yes and Armstrong gets more chances in a game, but he is a better finisher than Scienza

I agree, he kept us in mid table when he had absolutely no funding due to Gao not being able to get money out of China.

Had he been given a striker at the start of the season then we would have stayed up

5 Things About The Trip To Pompey
at 11:38 26 Jan 2026

1. It caused much mirth before the game, when one fella was soaked down his back because he had taped a Capri Sun pouch full of Whiskey to his back and he had leant on it and it had burst

2. Didnt seem that much in the way of catering at St Mary's the Dell bar was open, but ir was far from full at 8am

3. I'm not sure that safe standing areas are that safe, when we scored there were people standing on the seats on the bars and flying down the rows

4. The atmosphere wasn't that great, I think they are first and foremost haters of Southampton than supporters of Portsmouth fc

5. As above they dont make much noise for a stadium packed with 50,000 home fans

Im surprised at the stick that Armstrong is getting here, he had two chances, the first one was not the greatest finish, but it was low and hard and the keeper did well, not every chance in this position goes in.

The second saw him come through a crowd of players and hit it well.

Leo finished clinically, but he has missed similar chances to Armstrong's first chance in other games.

If things had been reversed and Scienza missed the early chance and Armstrong scored the opening goal, I don't think anyone would be nit picking about Scienza

I dont think Saints will take him back to pay his wages for the rest of the season, he was injured whilst in Stoke's pay, why should we pay around £1.5 million in wages
