It does make you wonder doesn't it kingslandstand1. The lies we must be fed in all respects. How can rejoining the EU be the golden ticket, when the.people in a.large number.of EU countries are rioting about the cost of living, terrible education, services collapsing etc. |

I would be interested to know just how much we and other EU countries spend in foreign lands. What are we giving to Ukraine, to the Israel war, Iran war. What foreign aid are we giving?
The people in the UK, France and many countries in the EU feel that they are suffering themselves, and huge amounts of money are going to others suffering, but what about looking after the people in our own countries first instead of being last in the queue?
Ofcourse there are rich people, and people feel they should give more back, be taxed more, but as you say, they have the money to leave the country. They will just get in their private jet to their private island and leave. Immigration is definitely another issue. People feel that as soon as a boats of people turn up on our shores, luxury coaches are waiting hours before they arrive, whizzing past the homeland homeless on the way. Germany have already voted in a far right party in a large sectio of their country. There are a lot of tensions.
Too much is being spent on non necessary things in the NHS as you make reference to. It should be a place for emergency.medicine. Not changing gender, etc.
The petrol prices, well again it is the actions of individual leaders that have made life unbearable for normal.people. Leaders just want to.look good, flex their muscles but have no thought for the people. [Post edited 18 Oct 13:04]

Just one of those games yesterday. The clearest penalty ever, not given. Frustration shown with sone of our dreadful finishing. But it was otherwise a good performance. Tonda will sort out the finishing. We didn't lose when in the past we might have done.
Looking at the table with fresh eyes this morning, 5 points off the top 2 is okay for now. A Saintsy thing to do would be to make a statement win at West Ham next week to close the gap to 2 points. It's certainly a must not lose game. On to that big game next week. |

Riots across many French cities. Riots in Albania, Italy, Greece, Belgium and Portugal. The world is in chaos. High costs of living across many countries in the EU, not just here. People can't afford their own homes. The services are not coping. Diesal and petrol is a crazy price. Countries in debt. Spending billions on wars that are nothing to do with us. Not sure rejoining the EU will make anything better. Europe certainly doesn't seem to be awash with money. [Post edited 17 Oct 23:16]

I'm not sure it's that. I mean he's no Messi and I was never convinced he would be a replacement for Stewart, but he did come against Stoke and scored. He came on on another game and set up a goal. He's quite strong and physical. Tonda obviously doesn't rate him, doesn't trust him, feels he doesn't give blood, sweat and tears. You have to, if you play in a Tonda team. Or maybe they have had a row or Mubama has done, said something Tonda doesn't like.
Maybe Blackmore could ask Tonda why he has been left out in the cold 🤣 [Post edited 17 Oct 22:06]

Adam has deleted all of his social media accounts due to some of the hate received for his question to Tonda. It has all been blown out of proportion. Adam just said that some fans were worried about the lineup, but were proved wrong. Tonda snapped back thinking his decisions werw being questioned after a win, he is a fierce, intense character after all, but some fans have resorted to abusing Adam Blackmore online. All a bit unnecessary. I don't think Blackmore was being rude, just could have worded the question better. [Post edited 16 Oct 0:25]

Who is going? Setting off midday at about 12, there and back in the day. Sunday woukd have taken a lot out of the players. A few changes to the team I would imagine? We do need another result though looking at the table. |

You're right the true fans were out in force yesterday. I met a few fans yesterday from all over the world. I met a group from Belgium, a group from Dubai. The big games get all the Saints fans from across the country and the world together. I did walk over to that section at the end to give them some stick and it was full of Saints fans clambering over the fences to give them stick, and you could see the same in the Chapel. They were £55 seats, I have a feeling there were plenty there who don't normally go, as that section is normally quite empty, loads left in that section for Bolton, but proper Saints fans nonetheless. It felt like a bit of a punch in the stomach when Bragg got sent off. We were well on top, and I could only see us going on to win by more but then the sending off changed things. Tonda and the players then did an incredible job doing what we had to do to win the game. We showed resilience, strength and passion to get that game won. Under the circumstances, winning one nil was very satisfying and full credit to the players. |

1) Fantastic atmosphere. It was a proper derby atmosphere. The whole ground singing and great to see a huge crowd of fans in the Chapel rubbing it in next to the barriers at the end.
2) Mark Dennis is brilliant and well worth having him make a speech.
3) Trouble after the game with fences being pulled down. Seen videos of both sides of the fence and angry Pompey fans really angry to fight and hurt people. It did make me think about why the bubble is there. There would be chaos if the fans had mixed.
4) Ended up at the Engineers Arms after the game. Had a few drinks there. About an hour after the game, police cars and vans started turning up to the confusion of us all. News that the Pompey busses were coming, and that news emptied the whole pub onto the streets outside People got out of their cars, beeping horns, swinging scarves and flags. We gave the skates some stick, with beers in our hands. They were all frothing at the mouth on their busses, banging the windows, headbutting the window. The moment that hit home we had bragging rights. A wonderful moment that just about made the day.
5) Arguably Bragg shouldn't have started but starting a Saints fan in a derby makes sense. He is a young player I like. He will learn. It didn't matter. What a day it was.

The atmosphere yesterday was incredible. We drowned out the skates and all four sides of the ground sang loud and proud. It was intense, edgy, a proper derby.
Nick, great to see you acknowledge this in your match report. It was indeed electric. Our fans have suffered. The Saints support has been criticised in the past, unfairly. We can't be conpared to other clubs, who always have success. It's really simple. Give us something to cheer, something to be proud of, players to be proud of, a manager who we know has this club's back, and some f@cking wins and our fans are the best in the country.
The adversity, playing a whole half with 10 men against our nearest rivals, a manager who has just been freed, thrown out of the playoff final last season, yet we had a day to never forget yesterday. Love this club and so do all our fans.
This derby was everything we wanted and after last years wet lettuce performance under Will.Still, I would much rather a born and bread Saints fan in Bragg, pulling down the skates and showing some aggression, players who care. Thank you Tonda, for uniting this club and bringing back the pride. [Post edited 12 Oct 13:10]
