Quite right. The two game rule should be in place whenever we are in the PL and should be for the current season as you say. Trouble is, the club will know that this game will sell out even if some tickets were £50. The tourists and the half and half scarf brigade will be all over this unfortunately. This should be a game where you must be on the database and been to at least 2 championship games this season, not one game since 2020 which is what they will probably do. [Post edited 9 Mar 21:49]

I hope the club price the game fairly. If they charge £40 or £50 because it's Arsenal, all the tourists will be in town. [Post edited 9 Mar 21:32]

I don't really understand what the plan is for this "war". If the plan is to destroy their facilities to prevent them from making nuclear weapons, I can understand that, so destroy their nuclear weapons and get out. Then leave them to it. Does the USA want regime change, which would mean running the country with hundreds of thousands of US troups on the ground (until they pull them out and the regime returns anyway)? Iran has appointed a new supreme leader who is exactly the same.as the one that got killed, so what has that achieved? He will just hide for as long as he needs to, until the US leaves, just like the Taliban. In the meantime, the cost of.petrol and energy prices will.go through the roof but for what? To put the Iranian regime in the mountains for a few years? [Post edited 9 Mar 14:50]

Loads of lads queuing outside toilets 🤣. No wonder the train guard was wondering what they were up to and probably what the attraction was inside that loo!!! "Not on my shift lads". [Post edited 9 Mar 14:14]

I can only assume they would give the away team another block in that usually empty block in the Kingsland next to the away fans. Those extra away fans could just come in via the same entrances as all the other away fans, come into the stadium with everyone else, walk down to the front of the away section by the pitch perimeter and then up the steps into that extra block in the Kingsland. Block off the entrance to the home concourse and put stewards in the aisle next to the Saints support in the Kingsland. The outside area is there too, so plenty of room in the concourse for those extra fans. That would be a solution wouldn't it? [Post edited 9 Mar 13:45]

We had by far "the best" chances. Fulham had a lot of shots from outside the box and more possession but that doesn't win games. On another day, Sciensa scores that chance, we don't hit the bar , it goes in, Fellows was also one on one. If we were 3 nil up, could you say we were battered then? Fulham didn't really have any clear cut chances, we did. We did a job on them, restricted their chances and won the game. [Post edited 9 Mar 12:18]

Exactly my thoughts. This style of football is direct, fast paced, attacking football that is a joy to watch. I don't think any of us care if we have had less than 50 per cent possession. All I remember from yesterday is being off my seat, watching us have some really good chances and watching exciting football with a great chance of winning the game. On another day, we get 4 or 5, just like we did against QPR. You don't get anything from passing left and right woth 80 per cent possession for 90 minutes. Long may it continue. |

Don't agree that Fulham "battered us". Or at least it didn't seem like that. We hit the bar, had a one on one, plenty of chances that should have seen us battering them. |

Great away day. Parked near a tube station, and got a tube in. Quite a long walk from Putney Bridge, by the river and playgrounds, which isn't your usual scenery on your way to a football game. Good view in the stadium. Why an earth one block of tickets were left unsold is beyond me. An extra block giving us an advantage? 5000 or 6000, what difference does it make? I guess we will never know why both or either club didn't want the extra income. Never seen so many Porsches, ferraris and expensive cars in one area. There was a book shop, seemingly closed with loads of books on display outside the shop. Anyone could easily have run off with books to read on the train back home. Great to see pubs displaying Saints banners after the game, and singing coming from zny open doors. Our fans were incredible. A long time since I have heard us take a whole end like that and sing with such loud passion. Wonderful to be a part of it snd shows that the FA cup still retains its magic. The team were a credit to Southampton FC yesterday. They gave everything. We could have been 5 nil up at half time. Our goalkeeper is brilliant. A massive upgrade. Love Sciensa, but how did he miss that one on one? [Post edited 9 Mar 11:14]

I would love Port Vale home or away, or failing that Leeds, Brentford / West Ham at home. Please not Liverpool, City, Arsenal or Chelsea away! |

It was a wonderful day. A really proud day for the club. Our fans were superb and very loud. That goal was one of all time last minute goals that brought such joy amd huge celebrations. The team, manager and fans were as one today. One for the memory book. [Post edited 8 Mar 20:47]

I think Millwall are a very strong side, aggressive, and clinical. I wouldn't want to meet them in the second leg at a hostile Den. Any other team, I would fancy our chances. |

Millwall winning at Hull. We have a game in hand on Hull. Not out of the question that Millwall get automatic promotion. I wouldn't want to face Millwall away in the 2nd leg of the play offs. They look very strong and ruthless. |

It's £40 in the Riverside, £30 in the other stands and the prices go up on the day. Shame that the ground will have quite a few empty seats. Empty seats that many Saints fans are desperate to fill in the away end for this particular game, and seats in the home end that Fulham fans are mostly saying are too expensive. Even from a Fulham perspective, they have charged their fans £40 a ticket for a game on tv at 12pm. That's the only issue with buying in the home end, it's more expensive. The destruction of our wonderful FA cup due to money and greedy owners etc is a travesty. The Fulham fans also arn't happy with the idiotic planning if this game. https://www.friendsoffulham.co [Post edited 7 Mar 12:13]

You can get them quite easily in the home end. A few people I know have registered with an address outside of Southampton using a family address if necessary, and have easily got a ticket sent to their phone within seconds. There will be about a thousand empty seats in the Putney End, because Saints, Fulham, the authorities or whoever would rather have away fans in the home end instead of releasing those empty seats it seems. Welcome to the financial and safety world of no common sense. Huge demand for this game because it's a London game (we don't play in London very often in the Championship), it's the 50th anniversary and we can sniff an upset [Post edited 7 Mar 11:47]

Wouldn't it be great if Spurs went down. A 60 thousand super stadium.in the championship. Let's see how many tourists fill the ground and get on the season ticket waiting list then. [Post edited 5 Mar 21:01]

In case Iran use the nuclear programme? What about Putin though? He's a nutter too, yet he is allowed a full nuclear programme and he could use it. And the North Korea leader too. The way I see it, if my country the UK is under attack, I support any action to protect our people. But we the public have not been made aware of the danger Iran presents, any more than the danger Russia, China, or North Korea present. There are many countries in the world that "could" use their weapons. And the problem here is that even if the Iran leadership are removed, there are probably many more hiding ready to do what the previous regime was doing. The Taliban were removed, but only temporarily, so that war was a complete waste of money and life. [Post edited 5 Mar 0:05]

Pardon the pun, but I think Starmer is right on this occassion to hold fire. We all know what happened with Iraq, and what everyone thinks of Blair right, who went in all guns blazing, following America. The thing that doesn't quite make sense to me, is that although clearly the Iranian regime is dangerous, but how do we know they were about to use their nuclear weapons? Arn't Russia, North Korea, potentially China, Syria, and others just as dangerous? Trump and.Putin are allowed to have nuclear weapons but Iran isn't? Is this because Trump and Putin are more sensible with them? And where have we heard before that a country had weapons of.mass destruction??? Do we really want to skint this country again to get involved in a war, that might last for decades? Look at what happened with the Taliban. The Taliban who were ousted, came back, so they were never ousted at all. It cost hundreds of billions. Do we want to get involved with all that money wasted again and most importantly loss of lives?
