Eastenders fan - well i was born and went to school in stepney - best school day ever the day after we beat west ham 6-1 . a little name drop i played a few games in our school team whose stand out player was david kerslake.

must have been early 80's and my dad into modern jazz was due to go and see Pat Metheny at hammersmith. Think he was popular at the time as he had a collaberation with david bowie . anyway dad was ill so said i should go with a mate so i could tell him what is like .
best ever quote from my mate " i've heard roadworks more melodic than this" .

definitely You cant hurry love by Phil Collins . I cant stand Phil Collins anyway - (give me Edwyn any day of the week - but I forever associate that song with QPR blowing a 2-0 lead at home to Luton back in the 80's - they must have played that song at half time and it still brings back memories of that game - don't know why wasn't even that significant - but the opening bars have me covering my ears or rushing for the off button . almost pavlovian . |
