It maybe my mind playing tricks but we seemed to play better at the start of the season when the young lad Yalcouye was playing. Where has he gone? |

How about Jon Dahl Tomasson, got a poor Blackburn side to the playoffs, plays decent football, and we have a Swedish contingent that he's probably already very aware of from hus last role. |

With his limitations, I wonder if our passing would improve with Stamenic playing in the back 3? Would allow us to move from a e at the back to 4 easily. |

When Yalcouye is back, I would like to see him and Widdell being rotated for the midfield spot. 1 starts, the other replaces around 60 mins. Both have loads of energy and press well. However i think we'd be a little light if they played together. |

It does feel like a handbrake has been applied when the ball has to go back to the centre halves instead of moved forward.
The most annoying part of today though was the lack of response to them going 442 at the end of the first half. This pushed us back and allowed them to pass through our midfield like it wasn't there. Luckily they abandoned that plan at half time. |

One thing that I noticed in last weeks friendly emphasising a different attitude between us and LOrient was, when our bench went out to warm up, they went on their own or in little groups and did some jogging and stretching. When the LOrient players went out to warm up, they went out all together, with a coach who then pout them thriugh a full warm session with organised drills.
Why don't we do that?
I notice the same with many teqams last season who wouold do a litlle cone excercise before coming back lon for the 2nd half when we just walked on and stood about. |

2nd half of last season we had LOB whose first thought was to move the ball forward. Today we had JF whose first thought is safety to the earth Centre Backs.
A great club servant is JF, however forward thinking he is not.
As a plus JSE looked fit and busy when he came on. |

1. No sign of the midfield gelling as yet.
2. What was the plan after mass changes with 20 mins or so to go. CBs run 2 yards stop put foot on ball, get closed down then pass back to the keeper. As bad as watching a Luke Williams team.
3. (Knee jerk reaction time) No way are we challenging for anything this season. |
