Chinese tourists
at 07:51 31 Jan 2014

Anyone else had the misfortune of encountering this uncivilised race / nationality abroad or even back home?

Presently relaxing on break in Thailand with the missus and I can't believe what bad tourists the Chinese make. Rude , obnoxious and disgusting manners / habits to name a few of their short comings.

Only today have I had a go at 3 sets of them in my hotel. Twice for being soaked by middle aged Chinese men firstly swimming like a man with no arms and another diving into a pool and soaking half a dozen sunbathers. Then to top it off I watched one fat tiddlywink honk a big bit of phlegm up when he had got out of the pool only to gob it back into the pool where kids were playing. The spitting incident isn't isolated this week I've seen it occur on a ferry by a father with 3 kids and on a beach by an elderly Chinese woman in Phi Phi which had dozen holidaymakers stare in amazement. Add to this a race louder than your average Americans abroad and disregard to queuing like the rest of the civilised world it really is enough to make your blood boil.

I thought I was imagining things until I googled it and the results were compelling, I can't believe these tunts make up a sixth of the worlds population and the UK government want to make the VISA application process easier to allow 3 times more to visit our shores.

Would you really be happy with 17th?
at 14:03 15 Dec 2011

I mean seriously, I want mid table...I'd find 17th a disappointing season

After investment in the transfer window I would not be happy to see the likes of Swansea, Norwich, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton even Fulham finish above us.

Warnock has the ability to gel players quickly, we have shown already we can raise our game, we need to turn that into consistency.

The point at which I gave up on Taarabt
at 05:37 15 Dec 2011

The penalty incident against Chelsea.

I was always prepared to over look his petulance up until this point. The game meant everything to the fans. This incident demonstrated for me he doesn't have an ounce of respect for us fans and is a Grade A W@nka.

I suspect others had their resolve broken a lot earlier.

Well it is possible but just to make it clear to everyone its a Chelsea pub.

Couple of scum sitting at the bar didn't appreciate this and told me its always been a Chelsea pub to which I let it be known I'll let any local QPR fan I know to avoid the place.

University, a few things to think about......
at 09:36 22 Mar 2011

This year I started a Masters Degree which I've fully funded myself and I have to say the experience has changed my perception of University.

In 2012 my University will be raising fees to £9000 an year from about £3500 for Undergrads. Times have changed its not just because I'm older but the whole University experience is different. A cheap student pint costs £2-2.60, rents on average no matter what part of the country you live will be £100+ a week with Halls themselves probably costing more. The town where I study on the weekend is dead which is largely due IMO to students not really be able to afford to leave home to go on the p.iss. The Uni itself rapes students for what ever pennies they have. A few things really grate me about being back here (other than the students themsleves) is on my Undergrad we use to get all the class notes / handouts provided for us by the lecturers but not now. Printing per sheet at the Uni is 5p a go and I can assure you this per year equates to £3-400+. I have many anal gripes like this whether its from charging students for condiments in the canteen area, poorly designed facilities incapable of handling the capacity of students to lecturers moving the lectures around on a weekly basis to suit their own personal needs.

The students themsleves though this might not mean anything to some of you youngsters just don't seem to be able to just sit down and just open a book. The library is full of skinny jean wearing w.ankers playing with facebook. There is nothing more annoying than when you are trying to do some peaceful study and all you can hear is the tap tap tapping of keyboards or listening to the tinny sound of someone's Ipod

I am 32 and I have come to the conclusion that I would seriously consider twice about letting my children go to Uni as I think its a waste of money. Some of my peers from 4 years study came here £25-30k of debt and it will probably sit around the £35-40k mark when they are done. I put the average student debt at around £20-25k per student studying for 3 years. So for students graduating from my Uni in 2015 they'd be saddled with £25k in debt and their parents would have stumped up £27k to send them here.

Part of the reason I started a Masters was to give myself an edge to potential employers as the amount of people with Undergraduate degrees nowadays dilutes there worth (so in essence you probably do need to do 4 years). Now I have the privilage of actually have degrees in things that make me employable and are recognised but IMO about 70% of what people study at Higher Education leads to no direct career. If your thinking about going to Uni now or sending your kids to one think very carefully about what you are doing. Consider appenticeships, find a sponsor even or try working your way up through a company and 'doing it the hard way'. If your a parent ask your child to consider the Open University as an option you'll soon find out how much your child is committed to actual study then and not p.issing your £9k up a year. I guess what I'm saying is I would seriously question the value of the majority of Uni courses nowadays and if you think your child should be allowed to do 'what they want to do' don't be frightened of stepping in and telling them 'fair enough but your not getting anything out of me for doing that particular course'.

Knowing what I know now if I was 18 and looking to start a degree in the present day I would not do it, I'd probably apply to an Engineering company and start an apprenticeship and later consider the Open University when I'm mature enough to commit to such a course.

Anyway I just wanted to get that off my chest I know a few of you like a discussion on here....

Is no one else slightly concerned about the Curle to Bristol Rovers rumour?
at 15:22 31 Dec 2010

This is the man who as coach is probably in contact with the players more than Warnock & Jones on the training pitch 5 days a week. It is also not beyond the realms of possibility that it is Curle who has sorted out our defence. I've seen a number of videos on QPRPlayer with Curle in the background messing about and joking with the players. It appears he has a massive rapport with the players that much is obvious by the way Taarabt celebrated the winner with Cardiff with him.

The loss of Keith Curle at this stage in this season could hurt our promotion push, the club should be putting a block on any chance he could leave.

On another note just watched Mick Jones on Player, face like a beetroot.....someones had a good Xmas

Cardiffs 4 defeats this season
at 11:24 21 Nov 2010

Cardiff's defeats

Away to Leicester lost 2-1
Away to Ipswich lost 2-0
Home to Swansea lost 1-0
Home to Forest lost 2-0

F 1 A 7 Pts 0

Compare that to us who have only played these teams away

Away to Leicester won 2-0
Away to Ipswich won 3-0
Away to Swansea drew 0-0
Away to Forest drew 0-0

F 5 A 0 Pts 8

I know one thing for sure I don't fear Cardiff and if anything their defeat to Forest at home puts our draw last week against a team who hadn't lost at home in over a year and not failed to score in the previous 9 home games into perspective.

Beat this welsh vermin next week and we are 5 pts clear of them and they'd have recorded their 5th defeat of the season, onwards and upwards

Club/Mittals should make a public statement against Briatores Lippi comments....
at 10:57 20 Oct 2010

Whether what Briatore has said has been taken out of context or is true this sort of thing gathers pace in media circles and can be disruptive to the team.

If we get promoted I want Warnock running show, the man is the best thing to happen at the club in 15 yrs +. He (along with the Mittals) have given the fans back the club which Briatore stole from us. I couldn't give a toss about Lippis pedigree, I don't want top see another Italian in a position of power at the club ever again.

With regards to Warnocks managerial pedigree I really believe he has become better with age and would prove his worth in the Premier League. Ok he may be ultimate pantomine villian but has shown he is probably the best mananger in this division and more than likely a better manager than a handful in the PL as well.

We wanted stability, every one pulling in the same direction, commitment and organisation on the pitch. We now have this, I believe this is the second story to surface in the past couple of weeks regarding Briatore. Its time for the Mittals to make a public announcement of sorts and tell this fat Italian w@nka to keep his oar out!
