What would be 'success' this season with this squad/manager?
at 12:28 7 Oct 2025

We have to be aiming for the play-offs every season. We might not make it but that should be our target, particularly with the forwards we now have in the squad. Fair play to Nourry for showing that this league really isn't anything to be scared of if you have good forwards.

It is crazy that Les was in charge for so long with one top ten finish in a decade; just such an underwhelming period with very little genuine excitement and a massive part of that was the failure to acquire firepower.

Not beyond the realms of possibility that the maniacs at Chelsea come back in for him...

Fair play to him. Thought he was in trouble after Coventry because of the backseat driver but he's really shown he is his own man since then. P6 W4 D2 L0 - how many times have we been on a run like that in recent years? Bravo!

Would definitely play him against Millwall as he's played well this week and it's exactly the kind of match you want a character like him playing in.

Yes, he's a strange one. Looked amazing when he first signed, then got injured and was underwhelming after that. Then looked good in pre-season but has ended up on the bench. Hopefully, having competition from the likes of Poku and Saito will motivate him as he undoubtedly has talent.

Yeah, there's a good intro by Phil Davis on BBC Four too. I'd forgotten how short the film is. Also, the Yeti is Millwall, yes? I don't get why they're at Selhurst Park to watch Palace-Man City. I assume they couldn't get permission to film at The Den?

Yes, thought he was very good last night. Gets up and down like Bardsley (though needs to improve his crossing) and is very aggressive. A totally different player to what I was expecting given the online discourse...

That pass he played last night was sublime. We're really through the looking glass when we're desperate for him to come on.

I suppose Arsenal were originally from Woolwich. Must be the reason I saw so many of them swarming south of the river last night!

Awful game. Stephan messed up as we could have won that by starting with a strong line-up then taking players off. Pretty arrogant tbh, as was my 5-0 prediction. 🤣 Norrington-Davies had a good game.

A good way of looking at it. An excellent opportunity to win and score some goals on Wednesday.

Yes, hard to see how even QPR could screw this up, considering the state of their club and how we look going forward. Nice to see an unchanged line-up, so here's to six points against Wednesday and Oxford, and nose bleeds all round come Wednesday evening. 3-1.

Yes, they deserve credit. In some ways it must be a criticism of Les too - in a decade the two most effective strikers we signed were Nahki and Charlie, both on loan. Now we have two dangerous strikers playing together who we actually own. Famine to feast.

I still think Nourry has made mistakes - the goalkeeping situation and the cup match - but fair play, we suddenly have a group of young, hungry players and I'm looking forward to going to matches again rather than attending out of duty.

A really classy player. Fair play to Nourry, he has been responsible for signing a far higher calibre level of player than we've had for more than a decade. I was looking at our bench warming up in the second half and it looked good. Poku and Chair to come back too.

Who'd have thought signing decent centre forwards might improve the team? Not Les obviously.
