The pen save is so good because it's struck hard and low and he gets his left hand below his body to keep that out and then the second save is astonishing agility to even be up quick enough and able to spring to his left to get that onto the post.
You build a team around this keeper (amazingly) and with City in all sorts of trouble I would be sitting there at QPR Towers wondering how we buy him off City, even at the price they paid for him and the add ons.
Quite possibly a generational talent. Watched him in the NI games and he's a one off.

A really good point and amazing double save from the penalty by Charles (Glenn Hoddle and a cat). I think Stephan will rue the subs a bit as we very much looked like we would score the 2nd. The subs didn't have the impact I thunk he hoped but hey, a point at West Ham and not in any way outplayed by them. Held our own, look resilient and together. It's pretty good!
Basically the pitches are watered so heavily that players tend to slip and sprain, fracture their wrists so there's a lot more precautionary wrist strapping going on. It's not a fashion accessory.
This team would have pushed the accelerator down against the Argentinians. Shame it's taken until now to click and although Croatia were woeful tonight I think 'that kind of England team' could take out almost anyone. Was at times like watching prime Barcelona. The most impressive thing was the swarming hunting down when off the ball. Took as an average of 5 seconds to win the ball back when out of possession. Mighty impressive even with Croatia not being at it at all.
It would be lovely to see our Rs hunt the ball down like that. It is coming a bit.
Yes I think they brought on 3 fans and a lady with her unborn child before him but I have to say that Northern Ireland were superb against a fairly subdued Ukraine. Charles in goal faultless. 3-0 NI and well deserved.
At least Smyth won't come back injured unless he's got a splinter in his arse from the bench.
3-0 to NI now. Goalkeeping disaster for the Ukraine keeper. Charles so far having a stormer and just launched a 70 yard pass that almost got them through for 4. I really think we should buy Charles' contract off Man City as they'll be playing in a pub league next season (perhaps).
