I thought CN came across more like a human than a robot. I understand that some of the questions he had to bat away could have been sensitive.
The DS does seem to offer better routes to the 1st team than it has done for years but people are often guilty of over egging the pudding. The loans are at a higher level. I hadn't realised Big Phil was only 18 and a 1st year scolar. May not have had many L2 minutes, but it's a damn site better than Nat League S. |

Come for the match report, stay for a graphic tale from Ancient History. Only on LFW. Still it was far more enlightening and entertaining than anything that happened on the pitch.
Still, only 2 home games to come. Mid table Swansea and Derby, who will surely have had any play off ambitions ended. We should all be trembling with excitement at the prospect. |

I was hesitating before I made my latest (wrong) prediction between a defeat and a 2-& win for the Rs. Ever hopeful, I came down on the side of an away win. I should have read the preview more carefully. All the pitfalls were itemised and I just ignored them.
It was a dreadfully flat performance and at HT I thought Julian could have taken off any of the 5 midfielders. The 2 full backs were almost equally ineffective. 10 minutes into the second half it was obvious we weren't going to come back.
Feel sorry for Burrell who was one of the few to come out with any credit. |

If it becomes a battle between CEO and senior manager, and it clearly has, then CEO wins 99%. But, at what cost?
We have 7 senior players out of contract; no manager; Xavi will probably follow Marti; and we're relying on a 28yo with minimal football experience to sort that out before August.
How did it come to this?
I wouldnt be surprised to see this team phoning it in from the Stadium of Light, while those who aren't total p1ssed off sing songs in support of Cifuentes.
The near future looks horrible. Culminating in relegation?

IF we can get Cook, Dunne and Frey to sign new deals I don't think we'll need a major overhaul this Summer. That is a big IF, though. However, if Marti goes, and he's already the 5th longest serving Championship manager, then that would paint a different picture.
I'm reasonably optimistic, for now.
I did splutter at a body count like Midsomer Murders. Priceless. |

Moving in the right direction is good. Y2 deals for Cook, Colback, Andersen, Frey if, as rumoured, less so. But gates are good and the new TV deal is due to boost revenue. The heavy loss from 21/22 drops out of the 3 year FFP calc. Now, if only we can get a large influx from player trading, even if it is based on what Palace do. |
