Absolutely dreadful. Nothing sticking and defensively shambolic. Our 2 attempts have been catching practise for their keeper. Paal and Andersen getting carved open down our left and Jimmy struggling to dealwith Bung Ho. Midfield aren't getting close to their guys. I'm wondering how many they can get before they call off the hounds. |

Even worse than expected. No Frey, no strikers, no goals. I'd have put a small wager on Harry Murphy being released this Summer, not on the bench for the first team. |

Club has said that Varane and Lloyd will be back. Cook out, as they need to deal with his foot problem. Despite him being in the training photos! Allegedly, there were hints that Kolli might be back. Didn't see him in the photos. I suspect Edwards will move back to the defence, probably alongside Fox. Colback & Varane ahead of them. The attacking 3 could be contentious. Smyth or Yang, Andersen, Dembele. Frey up front. Bench - Walsh; Ashby, Morrison; Yang or Smyth, Morgan, Madsen, Bennie; Lloyd and Petrie, if Kolli not ready. Dunne as captain? |

Excluding Morgan, Kolli and Lloyd but including the loanees, we have a 23 man squad. When, in your opinion, would we have enough of a squad? Of course injuries have been a major factor this season. This a list of those who've missed major chunks:- Cook Morrison JCS Fox Dembele Chair Andersen Field Colback Frey Celar Kolli Lloyd |

At least in the news item I saw, QPR didn't get mentioned in his previous clubs: |

Plymouth won't get 45 points. Beat EITHER Stoke OR Cardiff OR Oxford and they'll finish below us. 1 more win may do, but that's a long way from Marti's 56 point, realistic(?), target. 8 games left. That is 24 points and would.leave us just short of the playoffs. That's an alternative take cf the original thread title. [Post edited 26 Mar 14:04]

I read that Shrewsbury picked up 23 of their miserly 28 points in the 4 months Ainsworth was in charge. |

If Dunne does go, I just hope it's to a club in the PL. He'd certainly go down in.my estimation if he were to sign for another Championship club. |

I like the first paragraph. P2 W2 GF 5 GA 0 You can only beat what's in front of you, which they did. Para 2 is one hell of a stretch from para 1. |

Underwhelming. Too many new faces last Summer, some of whom have settled well, others disappointing. 2 biggest outlays have been the most disappointing. Very much the same as every other club in the Championship without parachute payments. Injuries to so many key players, at key times, have disrupted progress. Tying Field, JCS, Chair, Kolli, Lloyd, Morgan to new contracts a definite plus. The concerns about 4 defenders, + 2 loans, being out of contract is a worry. Overall, not quite as good as we'd hoped after the end of last season. And, the future. Depends on departures and incoming. But, I'd hope for further improvement. Top ten finish? |

Sorry mate, it doesn't work like that. If we got 18000 in paying £20, income is £360k + additional spending on catering, etc. If you get 16000 paying £30, it's £480k. Then the boxes don't pay £30 but closer to £100 per person. No wonder so many clubs try to attract the wealthy rather than Mr Average. |

The obvious answer is that the clubs are paying out massively more than they are taking in. Once, the difference was smaller and, therefore, affordable to a local business. Go read Charles Dickens' comments about Mr Micawber to see how that pans out. |
