Got lucky there. We need a keeper who isn't so sloooowww on the ball. His shot stopping and claiming of the ball was great today but he's a liability with the ball at his feet. I dont know how Oldham failed to score on at least 2 occasions because of him. So lucky to get away with it.

We must have a player who can throw the ball long into the box. It's been done to win the Premier League last season so it shouldn't be frowned upon. Just have a long throw competition in training and see who's the best! The size of some of their arms these days there must be a few capable candidates.

Concede less goals. Saturday was a start. Need to start scoring now. Mani D has been a shadow of his former National League self and Brown doesn't really look like he'll score a lot of goals at all.

Sherring hasn't had the best start to his Dale career - not being harsh but his injury certainly seemed to strengthen us last night and possibly contributed to our 1st clean sheet. Dan Moss was superb.

Alfie Le Fondre's impact on loan was pretty instant - think he scored 2 in his debut in that memorable MK Dons game in the early Hilly days. Smith looks class though - he's done that finish many times looking at his previous highlights reel.

Well he's not been in any Salford matchday squad so far this season so he's either injured or out of favour with their new coach/manager. He's certainly a player who was superb for us when he was fit.

Watson will no doubt claim it was a good performance and we were unlucky to concede a late winner.
We've gone from a team with ultimate team spirit and will to win - to looking like a team full of strangers and zero chance of winning. It's sad to see.

Watson signed Maguire though who has a history of recent injury problems. He only played 10 games last season and hasn't played once for us since he arrived. Even if he's brought Sherring here for squad purposes he looks a bad signing. He is so ponderous on the ball and his distribution looks weak. We could do a lot lot better. At least Liam Hogan looked like he wanted to defend.

Can they learn and step up quickly though? What if they just aren't good enough. On first impressions last Saturday Ramming, Wilson and Sherring all look like very poor signings if you want a solid defence.

First time I've seen this 'new' team and it was poor. Starting from the back the keeper looks like an accident waiting to happen and replacing Gordon for Sherring looks like replacing a Rolls Royce for a clapped out Lada. We didn't look like we had a 'plan' of how we wanted to play. Not sure what our identity is with this new manager. Conceding at least 2 every game so far is an awful base to win games. I'd be contacting Stuart Maynard as quick as possible.
