And we all know what happened then Wessex. The remaining results went so well for us today. Manny's free kick was reminiscent of Lyles when he set Kells up for his earlier header at the JCS. We have four cup finals and we may well be playing Walsall in the semi final. They have really bombed. Bring on the Railwaymen. Up the U's |

First some great news, DC has deservedly scooped the league Two Manager of the Month award for March. Salford City moved closer to the U’s after winning 3-1 at lacklustre Notts County this evening (Friday). County could implode and miss out they looked poor and disjointed tonight. It goes without saying that this is a must win. Our recent record at Rodney parade is not brilliant but our win against Notts Co has given the team momentum and so win we will by 3-0 with Samson Tovide a brace and Owura Edwards on the scoresheet. Newport weather will be 16 degrees Celsius sunny with little or no breeze. DC will also have a couple of key decisions to make regarding his starting XI. The first nine places seem fairly standard (injuries to Bishop, Anderson and Payne notwithstanding). It is the strikers where he needs to consider who starts. Tovide is a certain starter and Simpson may get the nod over Taylor. I would like to see Aboh and Lisbie travel with the squad and one at least of them to get some minutes. Macey Egbo Kells Flanagan Iandolo McDonnell Thorn Read Edwards Simpson Tovide Subs Smith Aboh Taylor Lisbie Tucker Scully Hunt What a pleasure it is to be challenging at the right end of the table and to be there on merit. The faithful should be travelling in good numbers and we hope to have closed the gap on Grimsby at 5pm who face a difficult game at Harrogate. Enjoy the game. Up the U’s |

Salford look very good value for their win. Still plenty of surprises in the final games to come. All we can do is win our games. Up the U's |

Crewe's result tonight reinforced my optimism. Grimsby remain our closest challengers for seventh place. Doncaster Away remains our toughest challenge. Keep the faith We can do this. Up the U's |

No not at all Gerry. I don't rate either Simpson or Hunt but when we have serious injuries amongst the squad we have to delve into the depths. The goal was brilliantly made by Oscar Thorn and Simpson was in the right place to finish it. Simple as. The young strikers have not been introduced but may be needed for the final vital games. If Simpson can score more goals then do be it but I don't rate him. Samson Tovide makes the difference between a decent team and an exceptional one. His pace scares defences and he has a tremendous future in the game. In the meantime we carry on and need to keep picking up vital wins Up the U's |
