I'm so well-versed in not-going-down scenarios and endless relegation implications that I can't understand or make sense of the question being posed here - yet. |

Superb. A performance full of promise for the rest of the season. A Very Merry Christmas to 1-2-3-4 and all. [Post edited 20 Dec 17:15]

Fantastic stuff - but also on a practical, sensible note this second half, keep thinking the words 'goal difference', boys, goal difference. Repair the long term damage which costs us league position every week. It does, and will, matter. |

I'm an ultra-positive fella. So can I be the first (and last) to utter the words 'Port' and 'Vale'. Apologies. |

We seem to have developed the unfortunate habit recently of playing opponents just at the wrong time. Ipswich (just getting going,),Southampton (post Will Still), Sheffield Wed (pre-complete meltdown), Boro last week (full steam). Similar to today with Leicester and their (yes) exceptional coach. Feel Julien and the boys will have to work really hard today to earn a very good point. Rangers 1 Leicester 3 - bad timing. |

Superb and thoughtful piece, and very heartening for a lot of people. Thank you very much yet again, Clive. The most important take-away of it all though.... ....yes indeed, how the f are PNE third?! |

For me (since 1977) it has to be the whole of the 2000-2001 season doesn't it? Those 0-5s at Wimbledon and Preston, 2-5 at Sheff Wed and 0-6 in the Cup at home to Arsenal (mitigation, I know, but we still supplied comical own goals iirc). And the 0-3 at home to Stockport to round it all off. Shudder. Awful. |

An exceptional coach for whom a warm reception, imho, is thoroughly deserved. Marti and Zavi leading the team to that triumphant Leeds night in 23/24 was a survival miracle, as often discussed. In 24/25, our winter form (late-Nov to mid-Feb) was superb and very 'un-QPR-like', historically. And all this against a backdrop of boardroom/CEO shenanigans, as well documented. Really saddened when (and how) he left. More than impressed with Julien's work, but a part of me still misses Marti at the helm. [Post edited 15 Dec 17:11]

 | Forum Thread | Curious comparison with 2018-19…? at 16:56 8 Dec 2025
Looking at this season so far, I can’t help but notice (while I should be working....) an odd comparison with the Shteeve season of 18-19. Then, as now, our record after 19 games was W8 D4 L7. This included a 7-1 drubbing in the third game of both seasons in the Midlands. Preston were also our opening day opponents that year too. FTR I sincerely hope any other spurious comparisons with that season end right here, right now! |

Another big step...to what I don't know... Strong battling performance - pitch looked slippery, so well done to the team. As said, contrast this performance to 7 days ago. Baffling. Tricky fixtures now to come - a few draws would not go amiss. |

Our best batsman of the 21st Century, definitely, but not ever IMHO. Hobbs? Hammond? Hutton? Barrington? Boycott? - all of whom made huge runs Down Under. |
