And another …I could be on this thread a lot 🤣… As yesterday , people who get up for a p*ss I presume , after 15 mins of the game , meaning about 5 rows of people can’t see for people standing up to let him out . Go to the toilet before or at half time . My old man Has had bladder cancer and doesn’t need to go after 15 mins already ! Just to add , the kid (early 20’s) didn’t get up and go at half time but after 15 mins of second half did it again 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 |

The 12” inch version of pigbag as the teams come out for the second half which includes the incredibly irritating sax solo at ear bleeding levels of volume …every home game . That boils my p*ss right up I tell ya ! 🙈😄 |

Hence why nearly all of the people put in place in the last 2 years including the head of performance, the sports science team etc etc are all part of the ‘old boys club’. [Post edited 6 Apr 18:51]

I’m not convinced Nourry is the problem, the problem seems to be he’s been left to his own devices when he really needs an ex Championship player alongside him to run the rule over his choices. But the one person put in everyday charge of making decisions like that is ….Nourry. So, he is indeed a major part of the problem . And around we go ad nauseum Edit : just to add , have it on pretty good authority he hates being challenged , on anything . So nothing you suggested, as good as they are in my opinion , will ever be considered never mind work [Post edited 6 Apr 15:33]

Respect your opinion and it’s a valid one , but my opinion is that knowing how to score goals at dev squad level is light years away from being thrown in to a poor side being watched by a brow beaten ever frustrated fan base in a huge game . I wanted him to come on too, because …..well, you never know . But realistically he is tiny as Clive mentioned, and with all our problems we need some sort of physicality in this particular side ….see last Saturday for details . And maybe more importantly, you could be doing the kid more harm than good as the anxiety was ramping up and up and up . Bennie is much more experienced considering his young age so I understand why that was the choice . The caveat being we’ll never know until he gets games . Very true . But those chances will be in different games and very different scenarios to the swampfest we have trudged back into now. Who knows, we might try something else on Wednesday with no striker available at the club and give him a go . But I doubt that very much . |

Just to add to the small Morgan / Varane paragraph. Varane played like lunatic . One of the most bizarre cameo’s I can remember . Tore about like he was on the gear and then lost the ability to co ordinate brain to foot communication. He was horrendous for the last 15 mins. Morgan all of a sudden looks way out of his depth. In truth he looks like what he is…a kid dropped in a poor side in the championship. Just strange that he coped much better when he first came in. He’s a young kid and this is all good experience, but really , he’s playing like he shouldn’t be anywhere near the team at the moment . Unfortunately the head coach doesn’t have a choice . |

Didn’t think we were too bad in the first half . Second half we were dreadful . 2 teams very much racing each other to the bottom. The substitution of Field and maybe Lloyd to a lesser extent bought back a similar feeling that’s been at the club for years now - lack of belief. You saw the belief drain from the players and heard it from the stands too a little. As a club we have been so fragile for so long now and there it was again today in all its glory . Of course injuries are key , any team would miss so many crucial players but we stopped believing in ourselves and credit to Lloyd for his first half performance. He is limited but he held it up well and caused them problems and gave the team belief we could score. For what it’s worth i thought Paal had a decent game especially first half . The 2 centre backs did ok too . Edwards was up against beast and it was a battle for sure. Colbsck did ok but faded second half. Smyth energetic and lively . But that second half was rank . Shocking game of football and pretty lucky to get a point . Frustrated . But as much with the utter state of our carcass of a squad as much as the performance. |

Just seems a slightly unnecessary thread . You are entitled to your opinion of course so fair enough. But Madsen gets more flak because of a number of reasons including , his price tag (which isn’t his fault but does matter to fans ), his position ,more experienced , his size , the fact that he’s been available but contributed very little in more appearances , there are others but the main one being he visibly hides in plain sight . It’s been noticed by everyone all season more and more that he takes up positions continuously where he CANT receive the ball . At best it’s a lack of confidence , at worst it’s cowardice. Even Dozzell when he played here would come and show and receive the ball deep . The comparison doesn’t really stand up . But my point being maybe , that we should leave the threads like this until we’ve either run aground to safety or smashed into the rocks and sunk. We should get behind them all now . What I mention above is now in the past for the moment . One thing is for sure that if Madsen somehow starts this afternoon I’ll be right behind him and supporting him rather than getting on his back . Do I think he would respond to a huge backing from our fans? Not sure as he seems emotionless, but we don’t really have any choice now . We need them all today . [Post edited 5 Apr 9:34]

Sorry missed that . But you do say “better than Dembele has all season”. He hasn’t played for most of it. That’s very harsh . He needs to improve that’s for sure . |

Not sure I completely agree. Most players need a fair amount of minutes to get back in a rhythm after a long injury absence and it was a long absence . Judging him mostly on 45 mins where we played like he was ‘Frey size’ against a huge Stoke team seems a tad harsh . Having said that his form did drop off alarmingly before his injury (maybe he was carrying it for a while ) so he does need to improve . We need him. But I’d say we won’t see the very best of Dembele until August unfortunately. |

FFS! It would be interesting to see the stats (we’d never get them , especially true stats) on injuries occurrences in matches and injuries gained out of matches . Frey, JCS (twice), Dembele, Varane now Kolli and probably many more I’ve forgotten all sustaining injuries away from the fans and not on match days . So frustrated with so much at the moment |

Hmm. Over the last decade or so I’m not sure they have too much to crow about and whatever it was they were doing compared to us weren’t working either . I do agree on some aspects of your post though . And I do agree the culture of this club (whatever that is and was) was torn out by our 2 visits to the premier league and the goings on at that time. All the people involved in that era and up to present day have left a carcass of a football club in my opinion. Rotten I could go all in on the owners , but in November when the CEO was in some players ear , patrolling the touch line at the training ground and ready to pull the trigger , it was Ruben and the other shareholders who told him to back off (mainly due to the fans reaction at the Stoke game I would guess) . Hence the squad got behind MC (there were rumours of senior players in open revolt) and the form improved . But this shouldn’t need to happen . Unfortunately we look right back there and most of the players that are playing don’t look invested to me . The basics aren’t being done and that’s a huge problem . Year after year . Time after time . Same things happen . Something needs to change and I don’t know if that’s certain positions or every fcker in the building. But like a lot of fans , I am sick of the rinse and repeat year in year out. I feel like I’m Going out of duty on Saturday and not because I’m looking forward to a football match . That can’t be right . |
