£25 million is pin money for some clubs, I personally feel that doesn't sound enough for him. That said, after one (very) successful season in the efl, it doesn't make him a dead cert for success in the EPL. While I accept money mainly motivates players, I would have thought another successful season in the EFL would put him in the driving seat next summer. Better that than being a bit part player for a prem team.

50 years of supporting the Saints, there's been highs and lows, but things have never been lower than this.
I for one was willing to give the powers that be the benefit of the doubt in the hope this was all to do with someone in the club going rogue, and the club having to take it on the chin. Clearly my hope has capitulated. I'm gutted and embarrassed that I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I am shocked that a professional football club, our football club, can behave like this and think they'll get away with it. I really want to know who the ring leader is, my money is on Spors.
The best, and in my book the only thing the club can do now to get fans and commercial partners back on side and try to salvage what players we can from the squad, is sack Spors and Eckhart, so a new manager can come in and draw a line in the sand so we can move on from this.
I will always support the Saints, but I don't currently feel like putting on a shirt because I'm ashamed whereas I should (and always have through 50 years of thick and thin) be proud. We need to draw that line in the sand and start moving on, and quick. |

I actually thought he showed signs of a very promising keeper who was put in an inevitable position of having to play tippy happy with a shite defence who landed him in no end of impossible positions. With a solid defence and playing jurics way I think he could become a great keeper. |

If that is the case it is an admission. Don't wait to be sacked, be the bigger man and walk away knowing you've done all you can. There is not a pundit in the land who isn't scratching their head at why you continue with the same principle. It's getting tiresome and embarrassing.
In 48 years of being a saints fan I've seen many lows, I can take lows but not incessant embarrassment. |

Totally agree, I didn't expect him do ditch his system but I did expect him to adapt it and despite being behind him until now, wanting to give him a chance, I can't see anything changing and as such things need to change.
There is not point is repeating the same mistakes, the simple fact that we are not scoring or even looking like we will score needs addressing. You simply cannot win a game without a goal so why do we persist in this way.
I wonder if Jason Wilcox was replaced, things could have been different as we don't have any football "playing experience" on our board since he left. |

Much happier with a more balanced defence and midfield. While KWP is a great player, I think having a Taylor as a natural left footer playing in the correct position payed dividends, we didn't look so obvious playing inside or back all the time. What a headache that will be for Martin!
Our issue is goals, Archer was unlucky and to be fair, ran his socks off. I am hoping Stewart will start to get back to his best with more minutes under his belt. I'm not sure of Diaz yet, but it's early days.
All in all, a better performance and dare I say it.. just like last season, we started to improve when Stephens was out of the team and injured. I just hope RM can see this! |

It is a shame as I'd love to see these initiatives do well and at the same time create a fantastic atmosphere but I fear the greed or is it lack of understanding of their market and the demographic of their fan base will ultimately cause them to fail. |

Great to see people supporting Gav as apposed to getting on his back. As others have said, he's been quality of late and as such I'd prefer to support him and just mark it down as a silly mistake.
I can't be as forgiving to Shea for his giveaway though, it wasn't the actual giveaway that annoyed me, it was that he made no attempt to chase back and back amends for his mistake. |

Ipswich and Leicester are tearing up the record book, making our position look average. At the half way point last season, the top two were on 45 and 43 and Luton who also got promoted were on 29. Let's keep this real guys, anyone who thought we were going to compete with Leicester this season is deluded, it was always going to be play offs at best so a 13 game unbeaten run and possibly 42 points at the half way stage is totally where the realists amongst us hoped we would be. |

Great result after a long week in terms of miles travelled. Really good performance although I can't help thinking we could have killed the game off much earlier if we didn't tippy tap around the box so much in the last 20mins of the first half.
I was really bouyed by the vocal support in the second half when things were getting a bit edgy, the atmosphere died for a while but those who took it upon themselves to start the support should be congratulated as it seemed to spur the team back on rather than having a stadium of jangling nerves. |

This can only be a good thing. Even this season, there has been times when the atmosphere was lacking and the away support has been more vocal which always disappoints me. I have always questioned the thought process of putting the away fans next to our "most vocal" set of supporters, so to have another area separate to that can only help spread the noise, songs and support. |

Dear RM,
1. Shea Charles is not a defender, but looks good as a defensive midfielder.
2. Smallbone looked like a rabbit in headlights and clearly didnt understand where he should be. He definitely isnt a defensive midfielder.
3. Once Bednarek and Stuey came on you could see the difference with some experience on the field.
4. Play Edozie on the left, it suits him better.
5. Get Dean Hammond (who was commentating for the live stream) in as one of your coaches - he talked much more sense and seemed to understand the issues much better than you do.
