Frightening to feel that it was all over against a team that’s scored 37 goals and won 8 games all season! We’ve been lucky over the last two months and hopefully our luck hasn’t run out going into the last game.
Over the last two months, teams have had a go at us and that’s where we’ve either fallen short or just got over the line. York will absolutely get at us from minute one, next week so we can’t afford to give anything away!

I suppose one major factor would be that all the teams were professional. Going off that basis I’d probably say that you’re competing with every team in the league rather than the top six.
I do agree with with your points about comparing, it’s very difficult. |

But those teams were assembled on a show string budget. I’m not discrediting anyone with regards to this years achievement, just don’t think it’s better than our previous promotions. When you look at the teams we came up against.
Do you think we’re overachieving this season? Because we definitely were when we got promoted to league one. |

I think that’s an insult to the two promotions Keith Hill had with us. Just for perspective, we’re in non-league and the level is terrible. Secondly, we’ve have had a decent budget and have probably some of the best players in the league. Don’t want to p*ss on anyone’s chips but it’s not fair to compare this, potential, achievement with our previous successes. |

Personally, I feel we’re not competitive enough against better teams in this division. However, I would also argue that we lack a serious amount of character within the squad and management team. We have picked up one point from losing positions all season at Spotland and this is clearly a problem because (as mentioned previously) we don’t score enough goals and overplay.
Jim mentioned at the fans forum that he took responsibility for shooting towards the sandy in the first half- maybe it’s contributed negatively towards our results this season. For years we managed to score late goals and turn games around, on Tuesday night we didn’t look like scoring in the second half. Maybe Jim got this one ,as well as many other things, wrong this season. |
