Alan was on every LSA coach for years, many grounds were new to me, we'd chat of games played at such and such ground, i recall he was not chuffed with port vale ( not a good ground for qpr wins) on a Tuesday night . he had such knowledge of results, teams, players surely he would have won mastermind if questions were QPR related. i ran the coaches for a while and his was the first name on list ( with a few others like Bill Cox, robbie) my condolences to the family and again, RIP Alan |

heathrow? talk of hayes, slough , milton keynes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a lot of teams struggled with new grounds, coventry , derby, saints, oxford and a few others went down with new stadia, some came back. i suppose west ham (porn owners??) would say average attendance is 55000? a eurp trophy , didn't pay 500m for ground just a token 40m? and tax payers pay for upkeep etc! they fund the club . WHU fans will have other thoughts. |

he was a tough player, not dirty , was at spurs for a while , captained wales in that great admiral kit too. RIP . |

if true and he is to sign at 4.5m , then well done the board as this is a massive investment for a young lad with a lot of potential . saints do have a good academy , which i hope we regain that status again soon. |

was at that game, decided to sit in SAR and during 1st half soon noted many well known ICF all around me , 100s of them i think B block then, i remember as fans slowly went onto pitch surrounds, no trouble and game held up, john lyall came to the loft end to ask qpr fans to make room? crowd given as 23000+ but i had been there with more than that and no one had to go on pitch , away end was over loaded so actual crowd? who knows. the cup meant a lot then . |

i have no issue with hammers, my older bruv followed them , but when you are down you get absolutely poohed on from all sides, offside ? var is really not helping and can the ref over rule them? west ham now 7 points adrift so very up against it. as for sunday i bet they really don't want it, they club, fans or team. i don't think edmund hillary would climb the mountain they need to over come! |

our pitch, a harrowed plough be thy name, thy see no sun but soak in rain, be uneven as we trespass to flatten the divots, holes and bare patches give the grounds person thy daily seed as they try to regrow the dead , forgive them they poor job as we fans cannot and lead them not to astroturf and cinders but hope for a new laid surface asap! clives' report about sell outs and expectations has me thinking we took 6000 to chelski in cup , when in league 1 and lost, 6000 to manure in league cup and lost, 10000? to mk dons, drew but manager sacked next day , 12000 to wimbledon, played at selhurst, lost i think 8000 in league cup at chelski and, er lost . we can do turn outs, turn ups? the hope is what gets most of us, the hope. i'll be watching a bit of irons v florets soon hoping for a game deep into added time, draining legs, energy, 8pm ko to so late finish , possible injuries and if florets win, irons in big trouble. |

there are a few stations near ground, stratford high st, hackney wick, stratford , well served. as for tickets not had mine, yet, glamour of the cup, excitement jumpers for goalpsots rattles, flat caps, ferrets and pe and mash, wallop av it a london derby 9000 r's , nothing but a race track, shot put and a high jump between the team and us as a club we need revenue , so a few rounds of the cup would be ideal and a rarity. no replays, is there extra time or straight to pens these days? frey up front to hammer em, and live on discovery + to boot |

imo again most prem development squads are not bad and could hold their own , we shall see , may the best 3 rd team win lol! |

was very excited until 4 injuries v owls , west ham must surely focus on prem survival and clawing back 4 points to get out of drop zone is not easy , likely they rest players, use reserves / development squad? a cup run is still the dream of many fans , with 9000 QPR tickets sold, new ground etc and i still hope we put out the best 11 we can , our catalogue of cup failures is long, painful and embarrassing . and must end asap imo getting to the ground is fun i hear as you cannot go thru westfield , how do their security know you are not a shopper? so most have a 15-20 min walk, from stations. i suppose the weather factor must come in too. |

hate em and chelski but the carry on continues, long may they rot. the cost of paying up contracts and the back room staff that go too is in the multi millions. new man comes in, spends millions, players don't care/try , manager gets sacked and the circle goes round and round. the gift that keeps on giving |

drainage seems ok as not holding water. dark green circles around middle of pitch, sprinklers?? the ellerslie side is a rough cabbage patch , even if limited daylight can't explain the poor state. it is uneven so will cause anxiety in players, fearing injury also uneven bounce, harder to control, predict . maybe ok for sunday pub league but not a championship game live on tv to the world. a club statement is overdue as to problem and solution. |

we may need him now after all the injuries during OWLS game! |

saint Bannan continued his charity work allowing us to get 3 pts as he put the bucket round for alms for ex-lepers and qpr!! much needed win at a cost of 4? injuries.... |
 | Forum Reply | Our Pitch at 15:38 4 Jan 2026
after today i ask wtf with our pitch? surely the club can treat fans as adults ( yeah right) and make a statement?? the pitch is causing issues and players looked unsteady, is it causing injuries? do we re-lay the surface? it is not a top level pitch fit for purpose! |
