poor ref agreed but we probably felt, job done, this started for us, like a friendly. we only livened up when Frey came on. for me, relieved and happy we stayed up with games to spare, the next 2 games are going to be HELL for some fans but not us. |

the draw gets us to the 50 pt mark, usually the sigh of relief, but..... i missed this one but reports are we could have won, had chances and played well, 3 unbeaten v a top 6 side, not bad.
after today you start to get the crazy results, as the league has settled down, play off contenders jockeying for placement to get home advantage second game , players rested, squads being looked at. i predict a few unexpected results |

going by injury list and assumed absences after oxford , ie field and smyth this could be after the lord mayors show. sadly i think robins take nest and win this due to injuries and a tired depleted squad. i'd take a draw now . and the magic 50. |

from the off we were at it, got an early goal, pressed chased and the whole team put in a shift, then 2-0 and wallop we have lift off.
of course oxford had a go 2nd half and injuries piled up for both, but as filed was off the pitch, oxford made subs, we didnt and they got one back as we were down to ten players. that lifted them, they came at us and the ref clearly changed and became a homer , as the clock counted down more stops more injures . on 85 i decamped to try and get back to station , as scrambling inot a cab, long stroy but we move on, massive cheer, we thought 2-2? as i looked across i saw the qpr end bouncing , yes 3-1 |

goals win games, very simply put and with no proven striker it was going to be a hard slog, and it was.

i never like to lose, but STOKE away is always a tricky game, a tough place to win let alone draw imo.
so we lost, i half expected that to see the squad so light up front is a worry, resting players is one thing but league rules are to pay strongest team , integrity etc this aint sunday pub league stuff.
IF WE ARE PICKING a few games to focus on to get the points needed for safety, so be it. cardiff, oxford and swansea are huge . |
