thought we were immense , at 90 mins and full time i said we would beat them if this went to a replay . we were away, against a near full strength prem side on a huge wide pitch and held them and got a good equaliser . not outclassed like pompey, charlton etc |

IF , IF QPR ever get a new ground , look at the London stadium ( we paid for) as WHAT NOT TO DO!
long walks, huge stairs, steep stairs, so far from pitch the HUBBLE telescope would struggle, it is an ATHLETICS stadium and fit for shot put, 100m and long jump, that's it,
soul less , did you know 51000 west ham were there? when they scored it was a shriek not a roar.
i saw a few police leaving stratford station and then by ground, but stewards my god! i understood one search point as we got near ground, but another at turnstiles? causing delays, anger, congestion as stewards did another ? many called to police to do something, i was told by a sgt " if i tell them what to do, i will get in trouble" good tell that to an inquiry if there' a hillsbrough!! tw@t
leaving as i went to go back to stratford, walls of stewards almost blocked the way? i told a few to move as 1000s coming out . then we walk uphill via a back route to station, to be held by basically human traffic lights, stop/go signs ready , held by small women? then after all that segregation and holding, searches they let all merge into one to get into station??? i saw no trouble and little history between the clubs, felt no animosity or anything like it. great day out? NO GOOD TEAM effort? YES |

qpr team did all they could imo, v a strong prem side, was the new 40m? striker their scorer?? anyway i can't fault any qpr player , we HAD A GO got level and lost to a very good goal. choker but we were not mugged off.
downside, long walks, i think sherpas would have struggled getting to upper tier seats, long way from pitch, high roof means no atmosphere , massive pitch .
great support from us. |

i too am very proud of qprfc today, they had a go, got level v a strong prem side and it took a very good goal to beat us.
9k hoops fans too very great. walsh made 2 or 3 good saves , kolli and dunne were immense for us. all put in a shift, in that non football ground, let's be clear it is an athletics stadium built for some to watch Bolt win sprint golds. |

Alan was on every LSA coach for years, many grounds were new to me, we'd chat of games played at such and such ground, i recall he was not chuffed with port vale ( not a good ground for qpr wins) on a Tuesday night . he had such knowledge of results, teams, players surely he would have won mastermind if questions were QPR related. i ran the coaches for a while and his was the first name on list ( with a few others like Bill Cox, robbie)

a lot of teams struggled with new grounds, coventry , derby, saints, oxford and a few others went down with new stadia, some came back.
i suppose west ham (porn owners??) would say average attendance is 55000?
a eurp trophy , didn't pay 500m for ground just a token 40m? and tax payers pay for upkeep etc!
they fund the club .
WHU fans will have other thoughts. |

if true and he is to sign at 4.5m , then well done the board as this is a massive investment for a young lad with a lot of potential .
saints do have a good academy , which i hope we regain that status again soon. |

was at that game, decided to sit in SAR and during 1st half soon noted many well known ICF all around me , 100s of them i think B block then, i remember as fans slowly went onto pitch surrounds, no trouble and game held up, john lyall came to the loft end to ask qpr fans to make room?
crowd given as 23000+ but i had been there with more than that and no one had to go on pitch , away end was over loaded so actual crowd? who knows.
the cup meant a lot then . |

i have seen on LSA and a few other QPR related sites than Alan Barnes has died, Alan was an ever present QPR fan for decades and i got to know him on coach trips where his knowledge of the club was immense , very sad news and condolences to Family and friends , RIP Alan. |

i have no issue with hammers, my older bruv followed them , but when you are down you get absolutely poohed on from all sides, offside ? var is really not helping and can the ref over rule them? west ham now 7 points adrift so very up against it. as for sunday i bet they really don't want it, they club, fans or team. i don't think edmund hillary would climb the mountain they need to over come! |
