O'Driscoll pays the price for inconsistency after beating whites' 4-2!

Sean O'Driscoll's reward for beating Leeds on Boxing Day was the sack!

Desspite lifting the Reds to eighth and within a point of the play off places, Forest dispensed with the services of the 55-year-old ex Doncaster boss just hours after their deserved win over Leeds and barely six months into a three year deal.

Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi told club's official website: 'The timing of our decision may look a little odd after the win over Leeds but sometimes you need to make changes with the long term future in mind.

"Sometimes those changes need to be made from a position of strength rather than weakness and that is what we are trying to do.

"'We are looking to bring in an ambitious manager with Premier League experience.'

No doubt there will be a fair few Leeds fans tonight silently hoping the Al Hasawi family will revert to their original target in taking over the Midlands club, Neil Warnock after today's appalling showing by the Trent.
