The Predictable Martinez And Reading Link
The Predictable Martinez And Reading Link

The London Evening Standard is - quite predictably - linking Roberto Martinez with the now vacant manager's seat at Reading

The Swansea City boss has become a total shoe-in to be linked with every vacant managers job going from the Championship or Premiership.  And we can expect more links during the summer as clubs make their decisions whether to stick with the management teams they have or to move on and appoint new ones.

Reading's decision was made for them last night when Steve Coppell resigned following their play-off defeat to Burnley that completed a poor end to the season that saw them unable to turn what had previously been home domination of games into anything that resembled a home win.

Coppell departed after five years in which he took Reading to the Premier League and back again and today the hunt began for his replacement with the name Martinez immediately on the papers list of possible replacements.

The article in the Standard said "Early names in the frame to step into his shoes include Lawrie Sanchez, Alan Curblishley, Phil Parkinson, Roberto Martinez and Paul Ince."

Would Roberto end up at the Mad Stad?  No chance in my opinion.
