Caught the train from Bradford which bizarrely filled up with PNE fans in Hebden Bridge (came in on the Blackpool Line and changed)......it was heaving. To a man they were saying what 3 easy points were theirs, and 3-0 scoreline was suggested.........but oh how they were wrong!.....We walloped 'em good.


Oh and Whitey is right.....Scott Wiseman is indeed crap. Nightmares tonight!

And Garners has just fallen out of O'Connells pocket.

great team performance all 11 worked their socks off for whole 90 minutes, limited oppo to very few chances...class goal from charlie nothing green could about their first..hard to see foul for pen from lower shed but seeing back on mod...seemed harsh oscar jumped into vargas and then fell over...great support from us outsang their lot by a mile....seems jose agreed with us is this a library!....standing ovation from us well deserved if we perform like this consistently we have good chance of staying up...special mention dunn and greeno

Swans should have got a penalty, and Alcaraz sent off for a blatant hand ball. If that had been the case then we could should have won at least 1 nil, because, for all their possession, Everton never really tested Fabianski who had another really solid game. Our defence (particularly Williams and Fernandez) was immense and coped superbly against those tricky strikers Eto`o and Lukaku

Much better over the last 3 games, they now seem to have a system and a plan, and the players are showing some fight. A much better team since Suk Young came in at left back, and Dunne replacing Ferdinand. Austin has found some good form and his confidence must be high. Not sure once Barton and Mutch are back whether it will improve the team. Henry has surprised me, really didn't think he could perform at this level but not looking out of place. Just relieved we didn't get stuffed yesterday, and unlikely to get anything out of the Man city game. Just need to make sure we don't drop points from the likes of Leicester, WBA, Burnley, and Palace and scrap out of the bottom 3. It is going to be a long and tough season but certainly feeling more hopeful after the last 3 games. Greeno was great yesterday, on top form and kept us in the game.

After first goal had went in it were game over for our PNE friend's they were terrible i dunno how they are favorites for Promotion, Conrad Logan were class fully deserved 10/10, Matty Done is still on fire scoring goals, Thankful for Blackburn sending us Jack O'Connell hope it gets made permanent

Hull was a great day out and I can only compliment the Hull fans for their friendliness before and after the game. As for the game itself, I’ve never seen a game where our keeper had so little to do!
I thought Hull were a good side and despite the above remarks about not testing our keeper, they did look in the first half of being capable of getting back into the game but just lacked the final through ball. Second half however was a defensive master class from Saints in defending from the front, as Hull were closed down completely as an attacking threat.
Steven Davis seems to have upped his game from being a 7/8 every week to being an even more consistent 8/9 in recent matches, but everybody else also worked hard with Shane Long being unlucky not to get on the score sheet from 2 good chances. Toby Alderweireld had a great game at the back and just made it look so easy. The Saints fans were also in good voice for most of the match, after Victor had silenced the locals in the 3rd minute.

Great atmosphere created by the Saints fans, especially the 15 minutes of Oh, When the Saints at the end of the first half.
As for the game - we started a little slowly, a couple of minutes of passing between the back four and Forster then Wanyama's sublime finish woke Hull up. Hull looked good and strong in the first half with Diame and Ben Arfa making some good runs and crosses. They looked dangerous until they got near the area when the Saints defence snuffed everything out with hardly any moments of panic.
Second half we created a lot more and should have had another couple of goals at least. Mane's miss was incredible, Pelle came close and Steve Davis should have hit the target in the last seconds but blasted over.
Another blood pressure increasing 1-0 but it's very telling that Forster had one very easy save to make and no crosses to deal with. Six clean sheets out of 10 EPL games - haven't seen many pundits talk about that.
A good day out - especially as I was staying with family in Yorkshire so had a lie-in as well on matchday!

Pleasantly surprised at the inadequacies in the Fulham defence which gifted us two goals, but we have not taken similar chances in previous games so well done Messrs Miller and Murphy. We could have gone 3-0 up, had Miller not scuffed a good chance straight a the 'keeper. The turning point was obviously McMahon's dismissal, which has already been covered ad nauseam in previous posts on various sites. Suffice to say, he should forfeit the captaincy in favour of Peter Clarke, who is a leader on the pitch.
Daniels was to blame for their first goal and Lewis, maybe, for their second, but both deserve enormous credit for their overall performances, especially in the second half when the ball only came out of our half a handful of times. Lewis made some outstanding saves to keep us in the game, including a superb diving interception at the feet of Rodallega in the first half. Dunne, Blackman, Perkins, Clarke, and Orlandi were OK for me, though I would like to see more from the Spaniard. He is a better player than he has shown us thus far. Even Lundstram showed some improvement, but is still a weak link, in my view.

Jacob Murphy is quick, enthusiastic, and has a few tricks in his locker. I would have left him on for the full 90 minutes, as his pace offered us a much better outlet than Miller or Ranger. He certainly didn't look as knackered as Miller, and nor should he, at 19 years old, and so close to scoring the winning goal on his League debut.
As for Fulham, they play at a high tempo and pass the ball well. Our strategy, especially after the break, was to allow them time and space to cross the ball, and then put our bodies on the line when the ball came into our box. A risky ploy, and certainly not to the liking of some fans sitting near me, but it almost worked. The outstanding Fulham player was Scott Parker. Always in the game, wanting the ball, setting up the play. Still a quality player, and sadly, we have no one like him.

Two games into the Lee Clark regime, and I wonder if it is significant that members of our "foreign legion" are slipping down the pecking order. No involvement in the match for the Oriol twins, Rentmeister, Zoko,
Dielna, etc. Maybe Mr Clark feels that home-based payers will have bigger hearts for the formidable task ahead of them.

Well, we ground out another 3 points with a solid defensive display throughout the side. Dominated possession but just lacked the final quality ball today. only a couple of half chances and was looking like a frustrating goalless draw for 74 minutes. Leicester were solid in defence and were happy to give us possession. We found it very tough to breakdown.

Am delighted for Shane Long. Took both goals well. Showed good touch for not being on the pitch for long (no pun intended). Pity he didn't get a hat trick with the last chance of the game. Should be a confidence boost for him. Lovely ball over the top by Victor too.

Leicester did have a good chance, their only chance, at the end and blew it. Might have been a nervy last few minutes. Didn't think Tadic had his best game today. We had a lot of short corners that didn't really pay ff.

Overall, a very satisfying 3 points to get before the international break. A point would have been a bit deflating. Instead, we enter a tough run of games ahead with our tail well and truly up!
