Let's do this! 12:35 - Nov 26 with 4198 viewsKinsey

I feel empty travelling to the match today as sadly on Wednesday I lost my best friend, inspiration and mentor. My father.

A lifelong swans fan who taught me everything I know.

But even though today is sad for me I'm going to celebrate his life and live for football.

So come on boys let's do this today.

Thanks for all the kind words guys and yeah I'm sure he had something to do with that. He would have LOVED today.

I was texting him all through the game as I always did telling him the score and how we were playing.

On that last goal I said come on Dad help us out.

This was truly an amazing day.

Nice one.

All our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Glad we had help from on high today

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

If I could have jumped towards you during the various amount of mental celebrations today I would have given you the biggest Jack hug known to us supporters.

Here's to your courage and I'll raise a pint to your old man tonight. RIP YJB xxx

I didn't think I could be any more made up until I read this thread again.

This is one reason we really love our football club. Hope Bob and the players see it to see what it means to us all. I'm sure they know watching the scenes at the end.

Joe_bradshaw -I thought the cryochamber was the new name for Cardiff's stadium.

Humble tonight mate.

Ah mate bet you won't forget that winner in a hurry. It was surreal enough in 'normal' circumstances!

Best wishes to you and yours

I'm sorry for your loss mate and hope you managed to enjoy today. It makes it all the more special.

That one was for you and your old man and it was clearly meant to be. I'm sure he helped us out with a bit of luck.

Oh and don't feel guilty for going - it sounds like it's exactly what he'd have wanted you to have done.

Can I also just say how heartwarming it is to read this thread. In years to come when historians are trawling through old websites to see what people were like in our times, I hope they come across threads like these ones and not ones full of petty squabbling and name calling

To Kinsey - very sorry to hear of your loss, my deepest condolences to you and your family, and thank you for your courageous post.

It struck a huge chord with me, my Dad died in 1996, he introduced me to the Swans as a nine year old in 1965, took me to the top deck of the double decker stand at the Vetch. He was a Jack from his teenage years in the late 1940's. I often think of him when I'm following the Swans and wish he could have seen our rise to the Premiership, and all the things that have made us proud of our great club in recent years.

All the best, matey.

Sorry for your sad loss Kinsey, but thanks for taking the time to post these messages - truly inspirational.

Your Dad would have been so proud of the boys yesterday, let's hope some of them read this thread and it motivates them for the fight ahead using your opening line:
