That time again.

Resident LFW tipsters step forward and help out the ignorant one week a year punters...

Been some brilliant tips on here over the years - what you thinking for this week?

a 25-1 horse wins the first race, all this tipping malarkey means fcuk all
do what my nan did and probably what 90% of the female population do and that's go on the name, if the horse is grey or if you like the colours the jockey is wearing

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Your Tent Or Mine... nice EW tipple and I'm ahead at the start of the week.

Slightly offset by my outsider in the first coming nowhere AND those swines at Sky not yet honouring the first bet loser return. Anyone know how that works? I'll have to read up the rules when I leave the office shortly.

Now onto tomorrow and the ES

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Tbh I got my refund back from SkyBet as a free bet pretty much before the start of the second race.. Normally it's within 24hrs.. I'd imagine they've been busy

Very tough day. Thankfully had a point on Buveur D'air too, so got something back. Also had himnabd Altior in a fivefold...so into that now. Very tough day, though. Bookies dream. Spoke to lots after who'd nothing all day. Here's hoping the tide will change today.

My picks:

1.30 Neon Wolf
2.10 Whisper
2.50 Peregrine Run
3.30 Douvan (obvs), God's Own for 2nd if you fancy a place bet or exacta.
4.10 Bless the Wings
4.50 Divin Bere or Nietzsche
5.30 Someday or Western Ryder

Anyway, good luck, everyone!

Was there yesterday. Great day but as you say tough. Lucky to walk off the course even. Only had an e/w come in on the first race to soften the losses, but what the heck as long as you keep within your budget then anything better is a result.

Had an absolute horror show today too. But I am properly gaming Skybet and Betway's free bet offers!

I've a similar profile to yourself there. Shattered Love looks good for a place in the neptune, very strong form

I'm also attracted to Nietzsche - I love a horse going for a hattrick.

I've been backing Western Ryder since he was 25/1. Makes my festival if he nabs it!

Oh well, Elliott being out of form wasn't a great call was it? Tizzard still not looking great though.

The trouble with going and coming back yesterday is that there's not much time to look at today's runners. I like Bon Papa, Messire and Neon in the opener. Haven't sorted those out yet. 2.10 = most have these have something wrong with them or the yard isn't going great or they don't look good enough. Probably means that it goes to a longshot but Whisper seems to have the fewest holes in him. Tombstone will be too short in the Coral Cup but opens up the market for the rest. Monksland might have been laid out for this. River Frost and Scoir Mear look likely sorts who'll get the trip and the ground is OK for them. Probably River Frost would be my preference - I rate Tom Cannon.
Douvan can't really be opposed.
As for the rest - even less of a clue at the moment. Bumper is always interesting. Someday and Cause Toujours have been talking horses. Irish Roe would be a nice story with them only training two horses to race and loads of pigs to get fat.
Good luck anyway.

Just the two tips:

Lunch Hour 12-1, and in the 3.30, Knitted Sweater - cracking little jumper.

My punt at picking the horse based on the jockey wearing blue and white hoops didn't quite work out as the horse bucked the little bastard and nearly through him off. Finished just ahead of the ones who fell over.

You know it's getting desperate when you start betting on QPR affiliations.

I'm all in on Simply Ned for the next race.

Douvan absolute favourite by a mile finishes nowhere near and then this...

'In the immediate aftermath of the Queen Mother Champion Chase, ITV’s betting reporter Matt Chapman said that quite a few people would be unsurprised by that result because rumours emanating from the Willie Mullins yard had suggested that Douvan was not working well.

I’ve seen almost every minute of ITV’s Cheltenham coverage over the past two days and I’m fairly certain that’s the first time anyone from their presenting team has mentioned those rumours. In fact, nobody on the ITV team has been championing the “extra-terrestrial” more than Chapman. Surely if they were aware of the rumours, they had a duty to mention them to their viewers? They may have, but if they did I missed that memo.'

I think that Chapman did mention it before the race, but i might have imagined it! Pretty sure that he did though. He's their kind of young Big Mac - doing the annoying (for the participants) stuff that someone has to do.

You think that's bad:

I've had 6 second places from 13 races. Only one was ew (Bless the Wings). Of the other 5, they've ALL lost by less than a length, and 3 have lost photo finishes.

Ridiculous. I am bad luck personified at this festival. Steer clear. Considerably down. If those 3 photo finishes had been the other way around....*shudders*. Oh well.

The banker of the meeting runs tomorrow.
Youknowwhatimeanharry in the Stayers Hurdle. The jockey has already won the Champion Hurdle and Champion Chase.

Wish I could be like David Watts
