I would argue only 2 have to be replaced as both Andrew and Lillis have been more or less invisible to our starting X1 all season. We have Lynch already and hopefully we can persuade Sanchez to stay another season - if not I would advocate another season long loan of a keeper. As for Hendo's wage - I have no idea what he's currently on but I would offer him whatever he is on at the minute + one of the aforementioned players salaries on top. It may be that he's already decided to join Keith over in Bolton though and there is nothing we can do about it. |

There is no reason we cant have a squad refresh aswell as Hendo staying. As to anyone who thinks he's replaceable - good luck with that one finding a forward who has guaranteed an average of 40+ appearances over 7 seasons and averaged 17 goals per season - on a free transfer? |  |

He isn’t irreplaceable , he was and is a great asset for us, and probably will be for a couple of seasons, but he might not be , he may get injured for example. As mentioned elsewhere his leaving would free up a good chunk to recruit a decent replacement 10 years younger. |

That's an incredible fact that we should be proud of and make every effort to retain him. His loyalty to the club has been without question and nothing in the public domain gives the slightest inclination that he has changed his feelings.

I’m a fan of Hendo, but nothing lasts forever, and fear of the unknown should not make the board offer a contract that could tie up a lot of money till 2023 |  |

This has been posted before but it indicates the feeling Henderson has for Hill. Bolton although will be in league 2 next season I'm sure Hill will have sold Hendo the 'project' and how Hendo could be their talisman for their revival. Playing infront of 10,000 crowds every home game and in a wonderful stadium. They could easily pay double what we offer him. I want him to stay and beat Reg's league goals record (119 - Hendo currently has 110 - he wont do that this season but he seems happy with the overall goalscorers record : Reg has 129 and Hendo currently has 124).

Maybe the issue with regards to Andrew and Lillis leaving is wages....
They have had a few contracts over theirctime at Dale and no doubt that each new contract is an improve one than the prior contract..
Either they will go out onloan or move on in the summer if their contracts are up..... |
Not necessarily specific to these players, but I think it would be a mistake to assume that a new contract is always an improvement on the last. Particularly at the end of a career, a club may offer less than before to an out of contract player, knowing they'll either end up offloading them or get a player they know for a bargain wage. I'm pretty sure that's why Ruben Noble Lazarus stayed on.
I think any player of 35 asking for a 3 year contract is somewhat delusional. Whether Hendo is or not, i don't know, but I'd love him to stay true to his word and finish his career here. |  | | |
