| Match Thread: Rochdale vs Wigan on 16:12 - Jan 16 with 2387 views | James1980 | Why didn't we start with McLaughlin? I guess he was fit enough to start considering he has come on for the second half. | |

| Match Thread: Rochdale vs Wigan on 16:04 - Jan 16 by boromat | Yep looking at the replay you can see why a red has been given not sure he kicks out as such but it's clumsy, awkward and gives the ref a decision to make. A little bit frustrating that the ref was so resistant to giving yellows but quick to give a straight red for that. Seems a little all or nothing. I was for bringing Beesley off but I think we need his energy now. It won't be popular but I actually think Baah needs to come off for Newby with us being a man down Baah doesn't do enough without the ball. |
But what's the relevance of no yellows earlier? That incident in isolation was a sending-off offence. Put it this way, we know what everyone would be saying if it was the other way round.

| Match Thread: Rochdale vs Wigan on 16:03 - Jan 16 by golfaduffy | I agree. I thought it was a clear red card at the time. The reaction of our commentating team was cringeworthy, and has led to a couple of fans calling it a shocking decision. I hope they'll look at it again and agree. The shocking decision today was selecting Keohane and Done at wing back. |
There was a grudging backtrack from the co-commentator.

He’s clearly not 100% or we would have started with him. McNulty’s Red has forced us to risk him.

The ball was in our keeper's hands 17s after we kicked off. That tells you everything you need to know. #playingitfromtheback [Post edited 16 Jan 2021 16:22]

it's a staggeringly valid question. I wish I could begin to understand BBM's selection process. Ultimately, it's going to cost him his job as more and more fans can't understand what he thinks.

I think it was the perceived theatrics by the Wigan player but if he really did get a clout in the family jewels they are understandable.

2-2, Beasley. Complete cock up by their keeper from a long punt by ours & Beasley very bravely gets the header in Dooley on for Lund who is injured ( hopefully only a knock [Post edited 16 Jan 2021 16:19]

It's the defender who tried to clear it on the line isn't it?

Keeper to blame...came out and then hesitated, allowing Beesley a header he really shouldn't have .
