Curran charged by FA on 18:53 - Oct 28 by Sandyman | Mr Curran will be sat, wherever he is sat, pondering this charge, it's consequences, and how what was put to him as a shoe-in went so wrong. The loss of anonymity, the loss of money. Why was he so badly advised? Who could have got him into a fine mess....? |
Stan: “If I had any sense, I'd walk out on you.” Ollie: “Well, it's a good thing you haven't any sense.” Stan: “It certainly is.”

Curran charged by FA on 00:32 - Oct 29 with 6879 views | Sandyman | So, so embarrassing for someone who spent years keeping himself out of the limelight. Remember when... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/05/efl-investigating-homophobic-slu "The call nevertheless prompted a WhatsApp message from Alexander Jarvis, who described himself in a phone call as an advisor to what he admitted was a “hostile takeover” and said that Curran was “a bit of a recluse”." So, so embarrassing for someone who spent years keeping himself out of the limelight to be outed for his own indiscretions all over the media. From no internet footprint to loads whenever the name Andrew Curran is typed into Google. Believing you always got your own way in business stopped at Rochdale AFC. Whoever led Mr Curran to think we'd be a walkover were clearly clueless and more interested in self-interest. We know and Mr Curran knows who they were. Guess there will be even more media links to the FA charge tomorrow. Do share them here. Let Alex and David explain them to Mr Curran. #UTDNFS

I suspect that an FA Charge (especially if there is a refusal to cooperate) would be very supportive to the EFL's investigation and lead to a permanent black mark against him in terms of being an owner or director. And given that he never officially named in anything related to Morton House, there will always be that suspicion that he is involved in anything related to what was 42% of the shares in the club. It pretty much makes those shares worthless. Even if MH were to sell them to a 3rd party, the EFL would always look upon it as Curran operating with a random name similar to Facial.

The question from the EFL will be "Why are you actually at the meeting?" If The Scouse Disaster, Alexander Jarvis, had been bright enough to keep Homophobic Andy away from the EFL meeting none of this might have happened. The fact that Jarvis then proactively ran the Daily Telegraph to brief them, the better it became. That article said of Curran and Jarvis. That followed a bizarre phone call with Telegraph Sport in which he said he had “nothing to do with Rochdale”. The call nevertheless prompted a WhatsApp message from Alexander Jarvis, who described himself as an adviser to what he admitted was a “hostile takeover” and said that Curran was “a bit of a recluse”. Curran is a homophobic recluse and up before the beak of the FA on Monday 8th November.

With everything going on at Yorkshire CCC concerning properly recording evidence and outcomes relating to alleged unacceptable practice, I hope Andrew Curran has a good solicitor. The EFL, who held the meeting, will have. They hosted the meeting where the comments were made. They have been reported in the Daily Telegraph. Homophobia is unacceptable in any walk of life. I hope the outcome for Curran and Morton House is front page news. It deserves to be.

Curran charged by FA on 20:45 - Nov 6 with 5042 views | EllDale | Pardon me for being naive but I’m not sure what sanction the EFL can impose on Curran should they find him guilty? He’s no formal club connection? Or can they fine or ban private citizens for the use of abusive language? God help half of the regular denizens of the Sandy if so!

We believe there could be several football related sanctions (eg. never allowed to be a director / owner, not allowed to be the 'ultimate source of funds' for other owners / directors)... More importantly, we believe the evidence could be the basis of a potential criminal investigation.

https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/policies/equality/football-v-hom With the expertise of the Football v Homophobia team, this tool kit has been compiled because we want to bring the debate to the fore and, just like the anti-racism campaigns, ensure everyone understands homophobia and transphobia in football is unacceptable. And, once more, illegal. Curran has picked a bad week to go in front of the FA. The Daily Telegraph has reported this as "FA investigating homophobic slur accusation": https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/05/efl-investigating-homophobic-slu Proper investigation into allegations, their investigation and their resolution and punishment is high on the agenda given the shocking failures in the case of cricketer Aseem Rafiq vs Yorkshire CCC. Will a governing body not want to be seen as strong on a question of investigating a homophobic slur? Remember this is an EFL investigation and those present (Andrew Curran, Alexander Jarvis, representatives of the EFL and representatives of Rochdale AFC) will all have been approached for evidence. In terms of punishment, it can only be made is Curran is not cleared and once all the evidence is heard but to get an idea, the Peterborough player Jonson Clarke-Harris was charged with: Breach of FA Rule E3 - Misconduct for six breaches of FA Rule E3 in respect of media comments posted on the Participant’s Twitter account between 27 October 2012 and 6 March 2013. It is alleged these posts were insulting and/or abusive and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute contrary to Rule E3.1. It is further alleged that these breaches of Rule E3.1 is an “Aggravated Breach” as defined in Rule E3.2, as it includes reference to sexual orientation. This is being charged on the same basis as Curran has been. Clarke-Harris was given a 4 game ban, fined £5,300 and ordered to engage face-to-face education. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/12415488/jonson-clarke-harris-pete

Curran charged by FA on 21:20 - Nov 9 with 3694 views | RAFCBLUE | As I understand it, the FA process is pretty straightforward. They charge you. They offer you the chance to submit a response to that charge. If you respond then they consider that and reach an outcome. If you choose not to respond then they pass that to the next disciplinary committee who discuss it and reach an outcome. As far as I can tell, usually reported here: https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline

Misleading wording by the FA. It reads as though Curran is actually involved with the day to day activities of Dale. Perhaps the FA should have also mentioned the EFL? INCIDENT OF MISCONDUCT Andrew Curran, Rochdale FC Breach of FA Rule E3 - Misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3 in respect of a comment made during a meeting. It is alleged that the Participant used improper and/or abusive and/or insulting language contrary to Rule E3.1. Very hard one for the FA given all of the headlines about cover up of prejudice in the press, particularly at Yorkshire CC. Diversity and inclusion are the FA's buzzwords. Will be interesting to see if they try to sweep it under the carpet, or choose to make an example of a nobody in football knowing that they will get praise from all quarters for confronting homophobia in football.
