I presume Paddy McGinty's Goat is in there to break up opposition moves, put in the odd well-timed head butt, and possibly eat the ball if all else fails. I can't see Paddy letting him go though... is he out of contract?

I can just imagine the whole of LR after just a few games going Baaa, baaa, ba, ba instead of Daa, daa, da, da

Good business. Hopefully can step up. Had decent season with orient.

Been with us before and was on loan with Ainsworth also.

Within our price bracket, probably as good a fit as any.

Welcome home Paul.

Sorry if it’s already been said but defenders will know they‘ve been in a game with Dykes and Smyth up front.

I‘m just not sure the keeper will!

"There’s two things I want this season; I want exciting, attacking football and I want players to give absolutely everything - in training, in games, in wearing a QPR shirt every day, whether that’s here at the new training ground, at Loftus Road, or on our travels."

Now this is the sort of thing I want to hear 👏

Hope he smashes it, but my opinion is that he just isn't good enough at this level.

Think I've already read this on here somewhere but if he had never played for us before people would be praising this type of transfer.

Ainsworth talks about him primarily playing wide right in that piece. I guess he's a forward in the old fashioned sense

Just because I don’t share everyone’s enthusiasm it doesn’t mean I don’t understand the situation we’re in.

No idea about what our budget actually is or how much players are worth, but a player like Wimbledon’s Al-Hamadi would interest me much more. 10 goals and 1 assist in 19 appearances for a struggling Wimbledon side. Must have something about him.

With Smyth, I don’t see how he’ll fit in to GA’s plan, that’s based on what I saw last season. That doesn’t mean GA doesn’t have a plan or that he won’t fit into it, I just don’t see it yet.

As I said, I’ll be supporting the players and manger 100%. It’s looking like it will be a difficult season, I just hope our football isn’t as negative as what we saw at the end of last season.

I’d rather Mo Salah and Bukayo Saka, but I’ll take Dykes and Smyth over Martin and Uncle.

Glad Paul's back. When he first burst on the scene, I never once thought, fark me, he's rubbish, let's get rid, so was disappointed when we let him go.
There's potential with Paul, let's hope he reaches it here.

It's an interesting one because in the last few games GA used Uncs in exactly the position that you would expect Smyth to play - and he didn't do badly. So it looks like there will be nice competition and options out there. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for any other position on the field as I just don't see two players with sufficient quality in any other position on the park.

We can't judge Ainsworth on the end of last season as he inherited a complete and utter sh*t show and some of the players in that squad will haunt me for years to come.

Dykes extending his contract and Smyth re-joining is good news as they both care and give their all on the pitch and we need to give Ainsworth a fair crack of the whip. Who knows, we might even be pleasantly surprised...

Suffering since 1978.
