I think the concern from the fans was that the new owner was going to provide stability and he would be there all season. If they are prepared for a slow burn then go and get Mike Williamson who will use the £5k a week striker more effectively. | | | |

Going to be a tough gig whoever gets the Oldham managers job. Reading social media comments, their supporters perception of being a BIG club would frighten anybody away. Some may say they are a non-league club with four figure support, but no. They really are BIG BIG BIG according to the outrageously MASSIVE support they claim to have. Living next door to a city with teams that get 50,000+ and 75,000+ support (that most rational supporters would call "big clubs") means nothing. There are but none as BIG as Oldham Athletic. All managers everywhere will be gagging to manage this BIG club because it is so BIG. Who on Earth would be up to it? If Sir Alex Ferguson came out of retirement, could he cope with such a BIG club? Pep Guardiola daren't leave Manchester City as he would be cowed with the BIGness of Oldham Athletic? Zinedine Zidane's copious honours list will never match the ambitions of a fan base that expects much more because they are so BIG.
A similar conversation is going on on bury's social media as they seek a new manager. They are so BIG in a village team league and should have been declared champions weeks ago because they are so BIG.
Merit seemingly counts for nothing. The level of delusion is bloody hilarious!!
We sit proudly way above both of them. Light years above bury. Not by pretending to be "BIG", but on merit.
